A Man Named Scooter

17 11 2005

There is nothing that this website needs to say about the Lewis “Scooter” Libby affair that hasn’t been said a million other times by a zillion other sources, except for this:

How, pray tell, does prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald intend to prove that Libby knowingly lied to the grand jury?

In my mind’s eye, the only way to prove it is to use Judith Miller as a witness.  And as we all know, New York Times reporters are ALWAYS reliable and ALWAYS tell the truth!!!!  (Jayson Blair)

Mainstream Media Fiddle While Paris Burns

17 11 2005

The story line sounds familiarly urban-American –  several non-white “youths” die in the process of  law enforcement agents doing their proper jobs trying to pursue and apprehend them for criminal warrants or offenses, and the news of the deaths spark city-wide riots, perhaps riots in the requisite non-white section of several cities.

But this time, the story is French.  In a predominantly Afro-Muslim suburb of Paris (keeping in mind that in most European and Australian cities, the non-whites aggregate around the suburbs because the inner cores are too expensive, the opposite of the USA), two Afro-Muslim “youths” were fleeing what they falsely believed was a pursuit by LES GENDARMES, and their flight somehow resulted in their being electrocuted.

And now, for 12 nights straight (at the time of this writing), Parisian Muslim suburbs, and even parts of inner Paris, and a number of other French cities are aflame.  There is even fear that the rioting will extend across international borders and the Jihad Brotherhood in Italian cities will start lighting torches.

I do not recall any African-American rioting here to last that long.  Then again, Europe’s African/Arab Muslim lumpenproleteriat is significantly more intelligent, more disciplined and more organized than our black brothers on this side of the drink, luckily for us.

French President Jacques Chirac promised action, though considering that the French have pandered to Arabs and Muslims for years and decades, one can’t imagine that the “action” is going to be much of a punishment or a deterrent.  I am not too familiar with the criminal portion of Napoleonic/Civil Code, but I wouldn’t be surprised if most of what rioters can be apprehended are given the equivalent to what we think of as Probation.

What is more perturbing is a few of the articles from the British MSM (Mainstream Media) I have read.  Their general tone is that they (meaning the writers of the articles, and also presumably the editors of the publications) are fearful that the French “far right” (read:  The Front National) will use the rioting to gain sympathy for its positions.  The inanity and pathological insanity of the media-left shouldn’t amaze anyone, but you still have to cringe when you realize that they’re more worried about Jean Marie Le Pen winning an election than French cities burning.

As for what’s next, this webmaster has included a link to the Google Translation of the official Front National website, which, as of this writing, has much on it about the rioting.  Yes, computer translation is always rough around the edges, but it serves the purpose.  We should keep up with the FN site to check for new developments, and any real news to be had on the matter that the European and American MSM will hide will be covered by the FN site.

UPDATE:   Now it seems as if France’s current governing elite are such empty suits and skirts that they’re wisely letting Jean Marie Le Pen do all their thinking for them.  See this article.

Superintend This

17 11 2005

After another bad couple of weeks of fighting and discipline problems at St. Louis City high schools, including yet another “isolated incident” at Vashon, and a brouhaha at Roosevelt, St. Louis City School Superintendent Creg Williams had enough and declared a town hall meeting on school discipline issues at Vashon, held one evening last week.

On the day before the meeting, Supt. Williams told a local TV news reporter that (pph) “there are at least thirty street gangs operating inside Roosevelt High School, and that he wants to do something before the problem gets bad.”

BEFORE the problem gets bad?

How bad will it have to be before he thinks that it’s bad at that particular moment?

As an aside, aren’t you getting tired of the powers that be in the city school system dismissing every fight as an “isolated incident?”  Then again, it’s not that crazy of a statement — the uncomfortable truth is that these fights are isolated incidents, isolated to a certain race, that is.

Surprise, Morris!!!

Morris, in case you didn’t notice, or in case nobody whispered in your ear while you were pontificating to all your good leftie buddies and minions, take a look at this, or if you don’t want to, have Mark or Heidi do it.

Trying to Get to New Orleans

5 11 2005

A few weeks ago, the local media made a big deal of Jesse Jackson’s presence in town.  He was here to coordinate busses that will take Katrina refugees staying in the St. Louis area back to New Orleans.

Jackson seemed to have a desperate tinge to his efforts, and that’s something that was obvious even if one didn’t know what (I think) was his real motivations were.

The reason Jesse Jackson and others are anxious to return Katrina evacuees to New Orleans is that, if half the blacks that were driven out of New Orleans do not return as analyists predict, then Mayor Ray Nagin, Senator Mary Landrieu, and Governor Kathleen Blanco, all Democrats, will soon be out of jobs.

Imagine what Missouri politics would be like if half the blacks in St. Louis left and never returned.

You Can’t Make This Up

The Wellston School District wants to improve academic performance among its pupils, so it has hired a celebrity ombudsman to be the P.R. focal point for the effort, and a personality for Wellston students to rally around:

Leonard Little.

I kid you not.

Perhaps he can also double as the Drivers’ Ed instructor.
