The FBI has officially concluded that no Federal charges will be filed in the Emmett Till affair from 1955.
Of course, since the two white men who were acquitted of his murder but later admitted to his murder are both dead, and since Federal Civil Rights laws that might have been used didn’t exist in 1955, meaning the Feds were up against an ex post facto wall, this means that this FBI investigation had this foregone conclusion from the start, and was a waste of time.
Its real purpose was political – to pander to black voters and the black Civil Rights Movement.
Remember, Emmett Till’s father was court-martialed for having raped and murdered an Italian woman (white) while he was fighting in Italy under Gen. Mark Clark’s Army during World War II.
