If you let your tongue slip, you might be fired within minutes just like Dave Lenihan.
Lenihan, a morning show host on KTRS-AM radio (550 AM in St. Louis), who had just moved to KTRS from WGNU, during his show yesterday morning, was extolling the virtues of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to be the next NFL Commissioner. At one point, Lenihan meant to say that the NFL hiring her would be a great “coup,” but he mispronounced the word and said “coon.”
He immediately recognized his error, and apologized for it in an instant. To reward his good deed, Tim Dorsey, GM of KTRS, fired Lenihan within MINUTES.
The St. Louis NAACP lauded KTRS for their quick and decisive action. Apparently, the NACCP now cares about Dr. Rice; any other time in the past, they would bash and trash her.
If the NAACP cares about slurs aimed at Dr. Rice, then they should pay attention to what some of their own black radicals are saying about her.
[...] While I am willing to concede that KTRS overreacted in firing Dave Lenihan, I don’t comprehend the rush among right-wingers to defend him. [...]
