A caller to St. Louis talk radio last night suggested that some of the candidates running for the St. Louis City School Board are openly advocating an “Afrocentric” curriculum, like there isn’t one already.
What that means is that black students are lied to about black inventiveness and ingenuity, and indoctrinated in a version of American and World History that forever portrays white Caucasians as evil oppressors and non-whites (esp. black Americans and Negroes in general) as constant victims.
Even though at least 85% of the city public school students are black, there are percentages of Vietnamese, Bosnian and Mexican students. (I suppose somewhere, in some quarters in the system, hidden under cracks and caches, you could find the occasional regular American.) Though I think St. Louis has all of the first two sets of “arrivals” we will ever get, the Mexican population is starting to sprint in St. Louis.
I am sure that Mexican, Bosnian and Vietnamese parents will be just thrilled that their children will be indoctrinated with “Afrocentrism.”
