Despite increased security at courthouses following shootings in Chicago and Atlanta about one year ago, many judges are bringing their own guns into their courtrooms for protection.

In Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas, incidences of violence in the past year have prompted new laws or solidified rules allowing judges to bring guns into courtrooms.

Miss Kent ought to speak these words to St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay, though I doubt they would penetrate his thick skull.
Even before Missouri adopted conceal-carry in varying stages between 2003 and 2005, state judges were given blanket permission in statutory state law to carry concealed guns on their person at all times, with a few exceptions. I think they also had permission to pack heat while in the courtroom, but I’m not sure.
This legal fact came into play in early 2004.
