Bob Barr Is For Amnesty
1 08 2007As if there was any doubt, Bob Barr on his blog today came out against Hazleton, Penn.’s anti-illegal immigration ordinances, and other similar measures taken by other cities, towns and counties, one of which is our very own Valley Park.
In his diatribe, Barr parroted the old bromide that illegal immigration is exclusively under Federal jurisdiction, so any measures like Hazleton’s should be carried out only by the Federal government. This is standard retort of all the open borders spokesmouths.
The trouble with that mentality is that, in today’s political climate, saying that the Federal government is solely and exclusively responsible for enforcing immigration law is the functional equivalent of saying the immigration law shouldn’t be enforced, as the Federal government doesn’t do much of it.

I bet the reason is that Rich Boy at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue didn’t get his way on his soft amnesty plans, so he’s stopping immigration raids. If that’s true, then it proves my earlier contention that the raids only took place to grease the skids for the “comprehensive immigration reform.”
As for Mr. Barr, I wish him good luck trying to promulgate conservative-libertarian ideas in a Hispanic Georgia and a Hispanic United States of America.
