(2) The parking lot of the school was well-lighted
(3) Newark has a new performing arts center
(4) Newark will have a new professional hockey arena
(5) The city administration is trying to create a vibrant new downtown
How can anyone commit any crime in Newark now with all these things going for it?

The arts center, arena and other attractions depend heavily on suburban residents feeling the city is safe, he says. “People not having fear is crucial, but it’s not something you can turn around overnight,” he says.
If the races are truly equal, then why do you need “suburban residents” (i.e. white people) to come into the city and spend money to make it prosperous?
