The MSM keep going on as if The Endorsement bestows the so-called “Magic of Camelot” onto Obama.
What magic? Only one Kennedy ever was President, won that barely, and with the help of mob cheating, and he didn’t even finish one term, no fault of his own. Had he lived, fill-in-the-blank Republican would have trounced him in 1964. JFK’s being knocked off was the best thing that ever happened to that family, and for the controversial ideas (e.g. civil rights) he advocated.
In fact, the juxtaposition of the Kennedys and Camelot didn’t start until just after JFK was knocked off — Jackie planted a story about the two of them listening to a “Camelot” record to a friendly reporter, and it took off from there.
Both Bobby and Teddy relied on their brother for their start; Bobby never saw the inside of a live courtroom when he became USAG, and everybody knows that Teddy’s first run for Senate in 1962 would have been a punchline if not for his last name, and that Chappaquiddick would have ended his career in 1969 if not for the name.
And behind all of that was the fortune of a Nazi-sympathizing stock market shyster and a bootlegger.
If anybody needs anybody, the Kennedys need Obama, and they need him to win, or at least stop HRC. In spite of the truth, the Kennedys are considered the Democrat Party’s royal family, and if HRC becomes President, that will instantly give the Clintons a far greater claim to being a D-party Presidential dynasty, and with Ugly Betty runnin’ around the country (including her stop in St. Louis today) on behalf of her mother, this means that the Clintons would replace the Kennedys as the prominent family in the party.
