Fly the Friendly Third World Skies

When you’re flying, your life and safety depends on every working part of the airliner working correctly.  Actually, it also depends on the affirmative action TSA screeners not screwing up and letting someone with bad intentions on an airplane with a makeshift weapon while they’re busy patting down your great-grandmother.  Notwithstanding that, let me deprive you of some peaceful sleep tonight to let you know that U.S. Airways and JetBlue outsource their heavy repair and maintenance work to El Salvador.

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) wants to add amendments to various Federal bills to tighten regulation of non-American repair centers, but she would do better to have American airlines do maintenance in America.
