Up until recently, Downtown St. Louis on a Sunday morning in 1940 looked like Downtown St. Louis after 5 PM on a weekday.
As far as the cooking class at a suburban D.C. high school, the gender politburo, both government and private, would probably shut this class down if it were held today, for one very obvious reason.
