Of course, schmucks like Joe Biden and most of the rest of tonight’s speakers were going to read Axelrod’s talking points. But what surprised me to the point of jaw dropping is that Bill Clinton did, too, instead of reading something he or one of his flunkies would have wrote. Oh, no, like HRC last night, he didn’t look happy at all in doing so, and at a couple of instances, he showed the Clintonite smirk that we all grew to know and love from the 1990s, the one that alerts us that he knows he’s BSing us, but somehow he bit the bullet.
I think Bill bit the bullet in order to appear like he is holding no grudge against the Obamaites. However, there is a rumor going around that Bill himself called Obama “a Chicago thug.”
The most “unique” speech of the night was given by John F’n Kerry. It was unique in that only half of it was Axelrod talking points, the other half consisted of his own campaign bromides from four years ago.
