A former scholarship women’s basketball player at Central Michigan University is suing the school because she thinks the team’s head coach dismissed her from her scholarship did so because she (the player) didn’t bat for the home team. The coach is firing back by saying that the player didn’t so any progress between her freshman and sophomore years.
And, with a case like this, a University spokesman could have avoided double entendres:
Central Michigan spokesman Steve Smith said the allegations have no merit, and the university will “vigorously defend its position in court.”
Stranger than that, the call letters of the TV station that has this story is WOOD.
