SCOTUS Rebukes Bloomberg on Guns

9 03 2009

It’s over, at least for New York City’s efforts to sue the firearms industry.  Mainly because the firearms industry is doing nothing wrong, save for the fact that it doesn’t get to vote in New York City mayoral elections, while the close relatives of thugs that steal guns so that they or other thugs can use them in crimes, do get to vote.  Telling the truth is bad for Michael Bloomberg’s political health.

The Mayor told AP that the city was looking into other legal avenues to “fight against illegal guns.”  I have a suggestion for him — secede from the United States and become and independent city state.  Then surround your city by a triple border fence that has 100,000 volts going through it, and a military or quasi-military force stationed at all areas around the fence.  That way, New York City will be bothered by guns nevermore.  And the rest of New York State might vote Republican for President and Senate once again, not to mention that New York’s thugs will be trapped in New York.  It would seem like a prison, you say?  Well, what the hell, many of them wind up going to prison anyway at some point during their lives.

Take Chicago with you, while you’re at it.

No link because it mentions the name of the Federal District Court judge who adjudicated this case in the lower levels of the judiciary.
