Engaged couple among those killed in Kirksville area storm

The tornadoes that raked northern Missouri on Wednesday night killed three people, including a couple who had just moved into a double-wide mobile home and were engaged to be married.

Gustavo Ochoa, 47, and Alisha Brune, 29, were fatally injured when their home just west of Kirksville disintegrated when hit by a tornado about 6 p.m., said Adair County Coroner Brian Noe.

Ochoa was a vice president at the Bank of Kirksville, was engaged to Brune and had bought the home only a few weeks ago. Noe said they were thrown about 75 feet. Noe said Ochoa had grown up in Mexico and lived in Kirksville for at least several years. Brune was from Clayton, Ill., east of Quincy.

Damn, 47 and engaged to a 29-year old woman.  Talk about bad frickin’  luck.  By the way, a VP of a bank and can’t afford a house with a foundation?
