Kansas Teacher With Conservative Views Gets Job Back

A high school teacher in Kansas who claimed his contract was not renewed due to his conservative political views has been reinstated.

Tim Latham, 44, who was told that his school-affiliated Web site was “too patriotic,” will return this fall to the 2,000-student Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kan., where he’ll continue teaching American history and government for a second consecutive year. Since the contract renewal became official late last week, Latham, a teaching veteran of 20 years, said he’s received countless well-wishes from students and teachers alike.

It does not surprise me that this happened in Lawrence.  The axis of evil from Kansas City to Lawrence to Topeka has to be the snootiest place in the country.  And it’s been going on for a long time — That’s all snooty antebellum and interbellum Kansan could do but to be hatin’ on Missouri, and thumbing its morally superior holier than thou “anti-slavery” finger eastward.  I once had a chatroom buddy that graduated from Free State High School in Lawrence, and he tells me that the name of the school translates to “Fuck You Missouri.”  Kansas has got to be pound for pound the most left wing state in the country, what I mean by that is that they elect Republicans to almost everything year in and year out, but are really liberal on race and aborticide.  (Remember, Dr. Driller had his abortuary in Wichita).

The zip code of the Governor’s Mansion in Topeka, nicknamed Cedar Crest, is 66606.  I shit thee not.

BTW, the only thing “patriotic” about this teacher’s website is that it has several American flag GIFs.

Son’s Death Has Iranian Family Asking Why

TEHRAN—The family, clad in black, stood at the curb of the road sobbing. A middle-aged mother slapped her cheeks, letting out piercing wails. The father, a frail man who worked as a doorman at a clinic in central Tehran, wept quietly with his head bowed.

Minutes before, an ambulance had arrived from Tehran’s morgue carrying the body of their only son, 19-year-old Kaveh Alipour.

Upon learning of his son’s death, the elder Mr. Alipour was told the family had to pay an equivalent of $3,000 as a “bullet fee”—a fee for the bullet used by security forces—before taking the body back, relatives said.

They do the same thing in China.  If the regime thinks that you need to be killed, which happens often, they’ll charge your surviving family members for the cost of the bullet.  That translates to about a U.S. quarter, though that amount is not easy for many Chinese, especially in the rural areas, to come by.

I Wouldn’t Have Taken Five Years

Something called the National Prison Rape Elimination Commission has taken five years to study their eponymous issue.  Yet, they still can’t make the link to race.

The proposed standards are being sent to Attorney General Eric Holder, who has a year to write national standards. States will be notified of the finalized standards and then must adopt them or risk losing 5 percent of any federal prison grant money.

That really comforts every white inmate in the country, that the black bigot in chief is going to be in charge.

Some of the report’s key findings:

– Inmates who are short, young, gay, or female were more likely to be victimized than other inmates.

– Even when inmates are willing to report abuse, their accounts are not always taken seriously and reported to appropriate officials.

White inmates are more likely than blacks to be victimized by black inmates.  The “appropriate authorities” are often black guards themselves, and therefore approve on black-on-white prison rape.

The commission’s report recommended that prison authorities adopt more internal monitoring, such as video cameras, as well as external oversight by review boards.

Nowhere do I see the only thing that will work, and that is segregation by race and physical size of the inmates, and also by white collar vs blue collar criminal.

“Rape must never be part of the penalty, ” said Hernandez, a mother of two who later earned a master’s degree in social work.

I predict that within a few decades, the Federal judiciary will set a level on the seriousness of a crime that could get one sent to prison, based on the assumption that an inmate will be raped, and using the cruel and unusual clause of the 8th Amendment.

Don’t Be Hatin On Mark Sanford (UPDATE: Do Be Hatin’)

Because that sounds like the kind of thing I would do if I were in high elected office.  I’ve done it before, leaving on a whim and having everyone bite their fingers in worrying about me, I’m sadistic that way :)  Mark Sanford and I might be long distant cousins.

This is giving pseudo-conservative RINO Sanford critics a chance to caterwaul.  Except what they won’t tell you is that they’re hatin’ on the Governor because he, unlike the rest of them, is not a pig with his head in the Obama porkulus trough.

UPDATE 6/24: Now we found out why Mrs. S. didn’t know.  It wasn’t hiking in the mountains, it was a tryst in Argentina.  Now that both John Ensign and Mark Sanford, potential 2012ers, have admitted to affairs, this removes two minor hurdles that were in Sarah Palin’s way.  Rasmussen, you might as well start doing Obama vs Palin polling now.

UPDATE 6/30: Gov. Sanford has had more than one tryst, though he tries to excuse the trysts with all but the Argentinian by saying that those trysts didn’t become sexual.  That dog doesn’t hunt for much of anyone, save the last few Mark Sanford groupies.  The reason is that a marriage isn’t just a vow of sexual exclusivity;  when you marry a woman, you promise that she and she alone will have a complete and undivided monopoly of your romantic affections for as long as both of you live.  Lusting after a woman that is not your wife as just as much “crossing an ultimate line” as is actually fucking her.

Nearly 900 people on the FBI’s terror watch list applied for and received a certificate to buy a gun in the United States between 2004 and 2009, according to a Government Accountability Office report released today.

Such as those dangerous terrorists who were just born and who just turned four years old.

The CSM goes on to tell the truth, but you wouldn’t know it from their invective-laced headline.

The article mentions Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-USSR) and his attempt to prohibit those babies and four-year olds on the terrorist watch list from legally buying guns.  The only problem is that there is this thing called substantive due process.  The TWL has no hard and fast criteria by which one is added to it or taken off it.  Besides, most ne’er-do-well terrorist boogie woogies ignore the 523,661,402,995 pages of Federal gun legislation anyway.  I fail to see how adding another page will help the situation.

I wonder what Lautenberg’s immigration positions are, if he is one of these types who would let all the Muslims on Earth in country because of the “diversity” they bring.
