Three men and one woman, all the men players for the University of Tennessee football team, are now charged with attempted armed robbery. They are accused of trying to jack up a Knoxville gas station near the UT campus. The Knoxville News-Sentinel has mugs.
Lane Kiffin, the first-year head coach of the Vols, noted that:
“We’re gathering all the information so we don’t know exactly what happened. Unfortunately there was an incident. We made it 11 months and 11 days without (any incidents). We’ll deal with the information as it comes in,” Kiffin said.
Eleven years and eleven days. It’s not Armistice Day, Kiffin, at least not in that way. And these aren’t soldiers.
The three men had the world, at least the East Tennessee part, at their feet. And they still feel the need to jack up a business.
