IL pro-CCW forces are holding a meeting this evening at the VFW hall in Fairview Heights.
I know how this story ends — Assume Brady wins Governor. Of course, he’d sign a CCW bill. But getting one out of the legislature is the big hangup — Every time CCW gets legs from mainly the downstate politicians, the ChiCongo pols push for even more restrictions than IL has now, and that gains legs, and this forces both sides to back down. Sometimes it happens the other way around, but the end result is still the same.
Brady could use his pardon power to promise blanket pardons to those who are caught carrying, but he doesn’t strike me as that sort of pound-it-through-the-lines bruising running back.
