* Remember the Michigan HS where President Obama was a graduation speaker, and the graduating seniors and those in attendance at the ceremony had to undergo background checks, all the while Obama was mouthing off against SB 1070? That’s Kalamazoo Central High School, Derek Jeter’s alma mater.
* Now the MLB All-Star Game is in Arizona’s court. This means the kook left is going to intensify its pressure on Selig to pull out. Of course, last year’s ASG was in a state that, by then, had enacted immigration laws about 90% as tough as SB 1070, and in fact, were THE toughest state immigration laws around until SB 1070 came along. Yet, there were no calls to pull the ASG out of St. Louis and out of Missouri. (In fact, Kansas City gets it in 2012. By then, Missouri will have probably upped its immigration laws to 1070-style strength.)
I tell you, for all the things he’s going to be remembered for, the damned mid-season exhibition game is probably the that will give Bud Selig most of his grief. He’s done more dicking around with a damned exhibition game than anything.
My recommendation for Selig is that he suspends players who were voted or selected onto the 2011 ASG roster, and did not attend, and did not have a valid excuse not to attend, for the rest of the season. That’ll stop any player boycott gibberish.
* Raza type groups plus at least one Latino player on the Milwaukee Brewers protested in front of Selig’s office in The MIL to get him to pull the ’11 ASG out of AZ. They ought to be worried about their own home turf — Wisconsin is a state that will have a 1070-style law next year at this time, when Scott Walker will be Governor. But already, the county that hosts the capital of the state, one of the most liberal cities in the white world, thanks to it having both the seat of government of a state with a historically Scandinavian population AND the flagship state university, is going to start ICE reporting on all booked inmates.
* Uh oh, Florida. No ASGs in Miami or Tampa for you! Watch the Raza goons try and make Roger Goodell take those two cities (sorry, Jacksonville, you’re not getting another SB ever again) off the Super Bowl rotation.
* This is what we in the blogging world call “bull fucking shit.”
Holder claims that sanctuary cities don’t want the “expense” of enforcing Federal immigration law. Pardon me, but how much does a phone call to ICE cost?
* How can Harry Reid say that no illegal aliens are working construction in Nevada with a straight face? Two theories: (1) Remember, nobody is illegal. They’re “undocumented citizens.” IOW, semantics. (2) NV has some 1070-style laws on the books that are being enforced, such that Reid might be literally right, but ironically so, as he’s against Arizona’s version.
* Not directly about immigration, but Levi+Bristol is back on. It gives us a chance to keep Sarah Palin’s hand showing on immigration. Steve Sailer points out here that AK is one of the last few places were a young white man with a strong back and not much in the way of brains, like Sarah Palin’s (again) future son-in-law, can work a job all by himself and support a family in a middle to upper middle class lifestyle. The main reason for that is AK’s distance from Mexico and all that cheap labor. But until SB 1070 came along, Palin’s immigration record was bad: She approved opening a Mexican consulate and its Matricula Mickey Mouse card issuing powers, in ANCHORAGE. She also whined about the “inhumanity” of deporting illegal aliens. Now that the Arizona heat is on, she’s backing off that shit, and now going so far as to blaspheme the holy sacraments of the church of Dutcholyatry on O’Reilly’s show last week.
* David Axelrod claims that “No Administration Has Been Tougher” on enforcing immigration laws than the Obamaites.
When your recent competition is Bush 43, Clinton, Bush 41, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon and LBJ, you just might be correct, unfortunately. Though that’s not a very high bar to flop over.
* Arizona is grading public school teachers on language skills? If I were an AZ politician, I’d have absolutely no problem with bilingual education — Conduct public school lessons in both English AND German. (Yeah, I know, many of my ideas sound better in the original German. You libkooks need not spam me with that one.)
* Joe Arpaio is attending a Chris Kobach for KS SoS fund-raiser in the Kansas suburbs of KC today, and there has bomb threat made against the hotel where the event will be held. Kobach is, of course, a partial author of SB 1070, a law which, knock on wood, Arpaio will start enforcing at the end of this month. If they find the goons who did this, that might also wrap up the goons who almost canceled this year’s AR conference.
Ironically, the NAACP is in town, and you should know the immigration irony behind that by now.
