Thursday’s Stuff

15 07 2010

*  Think Obama really wants to push for a gun ban now?  And by “push,” I mean get it in reality.  He’d be happy to pretend to push for it, in order to keep the gun and ammo sales high.  And that means more taxes for the Yankee government.

They fled crime and violence in Somalia and moved to South St. Louis City, near Roosevelt HS.  What could have possibly gone wrong?

*  Hello?  He already bailed his way out of the can with counterfeit money the first time.  So you re-arrested him for that, and now you’re giving him a CASH-ONLY bond?  Better make it a gold-only bond.

Channel 2:

BELLEVILLE, IL – (KTVI – FOX2now.com) – A father and son are charged in connection with the weekend murder of a 15 year old boy in Belleville, and the father is am employee of the city. The father 42, is a Belleville sanitation worker. His son is 22 and police think the son fired the shot that killed 15 year old Marquise Griffin.

Both father and son suspects have the same name: Marlon Fluker. The dad is senior and the son is junior.

“The dad is senior and the son is junior.”  GEE.  YA THINK?

Us spoiled rotten brats.  Don’t we know that Obama’s doing such a great job, with our wonderful 22% real unemployment rate?  We don’t realize how fortunate we have it.

Obama calling in the “adult” to clean up his mess.  Funny, all he could talk about 2007 and early 2008 was that the Clintons were too old hat to made effective “change.”

*  Oh goody.  Someone else who England lets in instead of Michael Savage.

Those almost two centuries went by really quickly.  And you wonder why we want the death penalty.

The Goldilocks Law

15 07 2010

CBS touts “only” 57% support for SB 1070 in their poll, but if you add the 57% who say “about right” and the 17% who says “not far enough,” (I vote for “not far enough,” FYI), you get 74%.

From my reading, SB 1070 was the kind of law written to hit the sweet spot between an effective piece of legislation and the chances of surviving court challenges.  There can be legislation that is more effective, (and I would want that), but it wouldn’t stand up in court, at least in this environment.  There is language that would survive a court challenge with 100% certainty, but it wouldn’t be at all effective.  SB 1070 is the Goldilocks.

*  Nun With Gun.  I suppose Lindsay Lohan was tired of merely being famous for being famous, so she decided actually to do something.  Unfortunately, it’s that infamous Machete (“through gringo’s throat”) movie that Texas’s gringo taxpayers are helping to fund.

*  Mike Cox, Michigan’s AG, once thought of as a shoo-in for Governor, has recently fallen behind in the primary to Congressman Pete Hoekstra.  Cox has filed an amicus curiae brief on behalf of Arizona in the 1070 lawsuits.

I don’t know much about Hoekstra, but I think Cox is a better candidate.  He openly supported MCRI in 2006, when no other statewide office holder or candidate would.

Coming back.  I’m there, d00d.  Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, beware.

Doubt that Mike Judge will voice The New B&BH, because his voice has changed too much in the baker’s dozen years since the first run ended.

It will also be the perfect opportunity for MTV to start playing music videos — I keep hearing rumors and urban legends that they used to do that at one time.  Not even Snopes can clear up this mystery.

You know what this means?  This white ass of mine is going to be in the gym as often as it can.  Not giving this rotten state the pleasure of any pretense of overweightness to tax.

When I first ran my eyes past this headline, I thought it read, “To Repel Mosques.”

Wednesday’s Tidbits

14 07 2010

*  You may ask, why are Republicans getting giddy over November when they’re tied with Democrats in some generic Congressional polls?  The answer is that, at least in the arena of House elections, if the Rs and Ds get the same number of votes, the Rs will win more seats.  The reason for that is that so many D votes are clumped up in solidly blue districts, especially black districts with black House members.

Montana’s proposed sex ed for KGers will:

…teach students proper terms such as “nipple, breast, penis, scrotum and uterus.” Once they are promoted to first grade, children will learn that sexual relations could happen between two men or two women. By the time students are 10 years old, instruction will include the various ways people can have intercourse, be it vaginally, orally or through “anal penetration,” according to the proposal.

Good, that means they’ll be able to watch prime time TV all by themselves by the time they’re 10, without nagging their parents about what this means or what that means.

*  Are you surprised that a man who legally changed his last name to something that is suggestive of his uniform number would make up something like this?

If I were Roger Goodell, I wouldn’t suspend him, I would change his number to 84.

*  The bad news?  Spotlighting Obama incompetence in one region of the country is now a Federal felony.  The good news?  It’ll keep Anderson Cooper 420 away from the Gulf Coast, which they’ve gotta be happy about.

*  Fleeing New York State’s high cig taxes for…Vermont?  I guess all the good libs up in Vermont will have to do something about that.

“An Aryan Glow from Head to Toes.” If that tagline doesn’t work, they could try this:

What do you do when you’ve got that not quite so racially pure feeling?

*  Another one for the AR commenter hall of fame.  “Jay,” from yesterday:

The big problem with these kinds of lawsuits is that in most cases the state is already over funding the minority students. For example, New Jersey spends more on minority students than white students and many other states have the same thing.

So if they already spend more on minority students and they are not achieving, how much more can you spend?

Here is a summary and counterpoint of some complaints around lawsuits like this.

#1 They complain that inexperienced teachers (less than 3 years experience) are the majority of teachers in urban districts. Well, out of the other side of their mouths they praise the Teach for America model that promotes the idea that young inexperienced teachers have the energy to match the energy of the students. They want to do away with tenure to fire teachers at will. Well, so you won’t have any teachers who make it past five years then. You can’t have it both ways.

#2 They say that inner city schools are ‘crumbling.’ Well, most of those schools were built when those areas were white majority. Now that the whites are gone, you can’t chase after them begging them to rebuild them. No one helped whitey build the schools but other whites. So let majority minorities in the cities build their own schools. By the way, plenty of majority white schools are in bad shape in rural areas. The building is not what makes the education. It’s the values of the families that send their kids there that does.

#3 They claim that the teachers are inferior. Teachers today are better trained than ever before. Most teachers in the nation are white female (80%), and the overwhelming majority of them are “Freedom Writers” wanna be’s. Every last dang white female teacher I know wants to save the darker races and works tirelessly in that regard. Are black and latino teachers the inferior ones, like in Detroit? I don’t think you want to go there because the black and latino community are not producing teachers very quickly.

#4 Minorities cry that there children aren’t being educated, but school districts nationwide are reporting spectacular gains for minority students in every category. You should see what they report out here on the east coast. Oh, sorry, with all the high stakes testing and with jobs on the line, administrators are changing scores left and right, teachers are passing any warm bodies that come in their room once in a while and state officials are dumbing tests down to the lowest level you can imagine. Ah, but ‘dem kids dey be al-right!

There are more issues, but I’ll leave it there.

*  Let me guess.  These were teachers who so beloved the concept of racial equality that they sacrificed one of their many begotten middle schoolers to the harsh mistress that is the sea.

The bigot that I am, knowing that blacks don’t swim very well, wouldn’t force blacks that admit that they can’t swim at all go into the ocean.

*  Harris-Slow must have bought some of this stuff ca. 1994.

That’s one way to get condoms into kids’ hands, if the schools won’t do it.  The Happiest Meal, n’est pas?

Today’s 48th State Big Stack of Stuff

14 07 2010

*  Remember the Michigan HS where President Obama was a graduation speaker, and the graduating seniors and those in attendance at the ceremony had to undergo background checks, all the while Obama was mouthing off against SB 1070?  That’s Kalamazoo Central High School, Derek Jeter’s alma mater.

*  Now the MLB All-Star Game is in Arizona’s court.  This means the kook left is going to intensify its pressure on Selig to pull out.  Of course, last year’s ASG was in a state that, by then, had enacted immigration laws about 90% as tough as SB 1070, and in fact, were THE toughest state immigration laws around until SB 1070 came along.  Yet, there were no calls to pull the ASG out of St. Louis and out of Missouri.  (In fact, Kansas City gets it in 2012.  By then, Missouri will have probably upped its immigration laws to 1070-style strength.)

I tell you, for all the things he’s going to be remembered for, the damned mid-season exhibition game is probably the that will give Bud Selig most of his grief.  He’s done more dicking around with a damned exhibition game than anything.

My recommendation for Selig is that he suspends players who were voted or selected onto the 2011 ASG roster, and did not attend, and did not have a valid excuse not to attend, for the rest of the season.  That’ll stop any player boycott gibberish.

Raza type groups plus at least one Latino player on the Milwaukee Brewers protested in front of Selig’s office in The MIL to get him to pull the ’11 ASG out of AZ.  They ought to be worried about their own home turf — Wisconsin is a state that will have a 1070-style law next year at this time, when Scott Walker will be Governor.  But already, the county that hosts the capital of the state, one of the most liberal cities in the white world, thanks to it having both the seat of government of a state with a historically Scandinavian population AND the flagship state university, is going to start ICE reporting on all booked inmates.

Uh oh, Florida.  No ASGs in Miami or Tampa for you!  Watch the Raza goons try and make Roger Goodell take those two cities (sorry, Jacksonville, you’re not getting another SB ever again) off the Super Bowl rotation.

This is what we in the blogging world call “bull fucking shit.”

Holder claims that sanctuary cities don’t want the “expense” of enforcing Federal immigration law.  Pardon me, but how much does a phone call to ICE cost?

*  How can Harry Reid say that no illegal aliens are working construction in Nevada with a straight face?  Two theories:  (1) Remember, nobody is illegal.  They’re “undocumented citizens.”  IOW, semantics.  (2) NV has some 1070-style laws on the books that are being enforced, such that Reid might be literally right, but ironically so, as he’s against Arizona’s version.

*  Not directly about immigration, but Levi+Bristol is back on.  It gives us a chance to keep Sarah Palin’s hand showing on immigration.  Steve Sailer points out here that AK is one of the last few places were a young white man with a strong back and not much in the way of brains, like Sarah Palin’s (again) future son-in-law, can work a job all by himself and support a family in a middle to upper middle class lifestyle.  The main reason for that is AK’s distance from Mexico and all that cheap labor.  But until SB 1070 came along, Palin’s immigration record was bad:  She approved opening a Mexican consulate and its Matricula Mickey Mouse card issuing powers, in ANCHORAGE.  She also whined about the “inhumanity” of deporting illegal aliens.  Now that the Arizona heat is on, she’s backing off that shit, and now going so far as to blaspheme the holy sacraments of the church of Dutcholyatry on O’Reilly’s show last week.

David Axelrod claims that “No Administration Has Been Tougher” on enforcing immigration laws than the Obamaites.

When your recent competition is Bush 43, Clinton, Bush 41, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon and LBJ, you just might be correct, unfortunately.  Though that’s not a very high bar to flop over.

Arizona is grading public school teachers on language skills?  If I were an AZ politician, I’d have absolutely no problem with bilingual education — Conduct public school lessons in both English AND German.  (Yeah, I know, many of my ideas sound better in the original German.  You libkooks need not spam me with that one.)

*  Joe Arpaio is attending a Chris Kobach for KS SoS fund-raiser in the Kansas suburbs of KC today, and there has bomb threat made against the hotel where the event will be held.  Kobach is, of course, a partial author of SB 1070, a law which, knock on wood, Arpaio will start enforcing at the end of this month.  If they find the goons who did this, that might also wrap up the goons who almost canceled this year’s AR conference.

Ironically, the NAACP is in town, and you should know the immigration irony behind that by now.

Haven’t Mentioned This Cast of Characters In Awhile

14 07 2010

But I haven’t forgotten them, either.

McClatchy:

Scholar’s libel suit proceeds against Southern Poverty Law Center

Guenter Lewy’s very interesting libel case against the Southern Poverty Law Center can proceed in the District of Columbia, a trial judge ruled Tuesday.

This one is worth watching.

Lewy is an emeritus professor of political science at the University of Massachusetts. A survivor of German violence against Jews during World War II, Prof. Lewy has written numerous books and articles about the history of persecuted peoples. In 2005, the University of Utah Press published his book, “The Armenian Massacres in Ottoman Turkey: A Disputed Genocide.”

As Judge [*****] noted: Prof. Lewy ultimately concludes in the book that the current, reliable evidence of genocide is unpersuasive or inconclusive.

The Southern Poverty Law Center subsequently issued a report, in which it stated that “Lewy is one of the most active members of a network of American scholars, influence peddlers and website operators, financed by hundreds of thousands of dollars each year from the government of Turkey, who promote the denial of the Armenian genocide.”

Lewy sued, and the first decision for Judge [*****] was whether the Southern Poverty Law Center was sufficiently connected to Washington, D.C. for her court to have jurisdiction. On Tuesday, she said yes with respect to the organization. The libel suit can proceed.

“Sufficiently connected to DC.”  Hell, you sometimes can’t tell where the SPLC ends and the ATF/FBI/DOJ begins, they’re so intertwined in certain areas.

What’s interesting to me is that the SPLC is putting itself directly into the ADL’s line of fire.  The ADL doesn’t like calling the Armenian genocide a genocide, because it creates too much competition for cashing in on the genocide they’re most concerned about.  In fact, the ADL has, on occasion, whipped out the anti-Semite label on those who do call the Armenian genocide as such.  Now, the SPLC also used to make a lot of money scaring elderly rich Jewish men and women that the Reich Wingers were just over the hill, rearing and ready to throw them back into gas chambers, (and the ADL had to imitate this eventually, see below), but the Madoff scandal has dried up a lot of that money stream.  So it looks like the SPLC might be trying to spread its wings in order to cover more cash cows.  And, of course, the ADL and SPLC never liked each other anyway, because until now, they were hustling money from the same people, and even when they had it to give, it was a zero-sum game:  A dollar given to the ADL was a dollar not given to the SPLC, and vice versa.  (I’m sure many early SPLC donors were ADL or B’nai B’rith members).  So there’s no real love lost.

Employment Discrimination at Al Qaeda

14 07 2010

I was driving around on business when Rush dealt with this Onion-ish but true story.  Man, I tell ya, just as I was thinking the funny cliche in my own head, Rush was saying it.

All I can add now is that evidently, there is a glass ceiling inside AQ that black men have a hard time bombing their way through.

There are top-level positions to be had at AQ, as we seem to kill their #3 man every other week.  Black Qaedas need to bring a disparate impact lawsuit against their employer into the Federal judiciary.  Maybe ending in a consent decree.

Tea Party Billboard Deemed Offensive

14 07 2010

SIBLEY, Iowa (FNN) — A billboard advertisement funded by an Iowa tea party coalition has been papered over after it received near universal condemnation, especially from factions of the Iowa body politic known for their harsh hostility toward each other.  Both Nazis and Communists in the Hawkeye state came out against the billboard, offended that President Obama was compared to their respective heroes.

“How dare these pukey little teabaggers compare that mocha-colored non-Aryan chatterbox to our Great Fuhrer,” said Wilhelm Mueller, Vice-Chancellor for Public Relations for the Hawkeye Coalition of Nazis.  “You know what’s worse?” he said to Fake News Network.  “That they put this billboard up in a town so far north in the state that it’s almost at the end of the Reich.  Comrades in the Minnesota SSR can see this thing and laugh at our Uncle Dolf.  They can’t anymore because it’s been papered over, otherwise we would have burned it down just like we burnt down the Reichstag way back when in order to bring our Great Fuhrer to power.  I mean, c’mon, what the hell — What do they mean when they call gas chambers a waste of taxpayer money?”

“You think YOU’RE mad?” said Dmitiry Konstantinov, Commissar of the State Committee of the Communist Party of Iowa retorted to the Iowa Nazi Community.  “You should be a mouse inside the meetings of our central committee, mainly because there’s a 15-year wait to get a pest exterminator.  We’re so hacked off that these capitalist tools in the tea bag cabal are comparing the capitalist tool in the White House to the Greatest Most Benign Collectivist in World History, that we’re just about ready to caucus.”  An unnamed Deputy Assistant Commissar for the Potemkin Village, Iowa Agricultural Collective Politburo told FNN that the State Party’s threat to caucus seems like a drastic and extreme measure, “but these are troubled times.  Troubled times call for extreme, five-year long efforts.”

However, FNN has learned that both the Nazis and Communists in the state are so indignant that they might be going beyond rhetoric in their response to Iowa Tea Partiers and their now-censored billboard.  Sources close to various TPM leaders have told FNN that those leaders are currently in Keokuk, trying to sneak across the border to seek political refugee status in Missouri, in fear of violent retribution by Nazis and Communists simultaneously.

“I Want to Hate and Kill the Motherfucking White Police”

13 07 2010

Start it at 1:19.  Remember, Obama/Holder let these genteel folks off the hook.

This isn’t new.  To wit:  The lunatic rantings and ravings on the “St. Louis Independent Media Center” website from 2006, which were scrubbed before the end of that year.

Also to wit:  About seven or eight years ago, I passed by a parked ghetto tricked-out Chevy Tahoe in the parking lot of a St. Louis Mall (Crestwood, which is pretty much now dead).  We’re talking chrome spinners, tinted windows, a kilowatt subwoofer or two, and other typical niceties of nemesismobiles.  The doors were closed, but the particular occupant was playing (I presume) some pre-recorded “music” either of from a CD or a portable music device.  The few lyrics I could make out were:  “I want to hate and kill the motherfucking white police,” “The goddamned police.”  Other than that, all I heard were loud drumbeats, group clapping and screaming.  Perhaps those two lines WERE the only lyrics form the song.  (“50 Words of English” — Michael Savage).  This was not the kind of vehicle that I wanted to loiter around, so I just kept on my merry way, not staying long enough to hear the song finish out.

I tried using internet search engines and lyrics pages to find the particular “artist” of this nice little ditty, but to no avail.  So this is probably some underground-cut “music” not affiliated with a major label.  As an aside, there was a song by the old time rap group NWA (N*****s With Attitude), whose famous members were Ice Cube, Eazy E, M.C. Ren and Dr. Dre, called “Fuck the Police,” from way back in the olden days:

Add to all this the fact that we have a black President, and all this hate is going to bubble up to the surface in a big way really soon.

Two Teas in the Same Pot

13 07 2010

St. Louis Tea Partiers in general, and Bill Hennessy in particular, are going to pre-condemn the NAACP for its anti-white racism before the NAACP can “officially” condemn the TPM movement in general for its “racism.”

Trouble is, this is Bill Hennessy we’re talking about here.  I don’t see why he’s against the NAACP for anti-white racism, because that’s something he seems to share in common with the NAACP.

Tuesday’s Stuff

* AQ bombs Uganda, <sarcasm> because they support Israel. </sarcasm>

* St. Peters and O’Fallon, both in St. Charles County, are both on Money magazine’s Best 100 Places to Live.  The Mayor of O’Fallon beat back at claims that “white flight” was fueling his city’s massive population growth, when KMOX radio pressed him about it.  But before that, an O’Fallonite who moved there from Florissant a decade ago all but said (i.e. used code words) that’s why he moved.

As an aside, I agree only on semantic terms that it isn’t white flight, it’s whites being driven out.

* Wow.  There ARE such things as fundamentally bad seeds?

* Just send Crystal Gail Magnum up to the Iroquois Nation.  That’s the quickest way to end lacrosse ambitions.

* I’m gonna look down in the shower tomorrow morning (or maybe in the gym this evening, if I have time), and there will be the cause of all my athletic ills.  That is, if I can still take a shower after this White House gets done.

* Speaking of that, don’t you love the ways liberals half-ass everything?  Give condoms to 7th graders, but don’t you dare have a cigarette afterwards.  (And many more).  Now, Obama’s screwy life wants us all to get more exercise, but his bureaucrats don’t want the showers in the locker room have any power or to have any redeeming qualities in terms of the way they stream out water.

* There were rumors that an individual who has both drug convictions and had a gun was inside summer school classes at Hazelwood Central High this morning, so the prison school was on lockdown.  The man wasn’t found.  But the obvious point to be made here is that it shouldn’t be surprised that many of the dummies who can’t pass the dumbed down courses at HCHS during the regular school year such that they need summer school are dumb enough to call for a drug “hook up” while school is in session and at the school.

* I guess you would call this CUCUCW (Carrying Un-Concealed of an Un-Concealable Weapon).  AFAIK, I don’t think any state allows you to conceal carry an un-concealable weapon.  Much less open carry of an un-concealable weapon.

I don’t think this store has much of a business.

Armed Guards At Pools After Lifeguard Attack

Armed security guards have been posted at public pools in Buffalo after a lifeguard was pulled into the water by rowdy teenagers and other unruly behavior prompted safety concerns for parks employees.

The city’s eight public outdoor pools were shut down last Thursday after fights broke out and a locker room was vandalized.

At one pool, a 16-year-old lifeguard says she was yanked by her ankles into the water when she tried to restore order. She says she struck her head on a drain and then was repeatedly dunked by several teenagers until another lifeguard rescued her.

The teen was treated at a Buffalo hospital for a mild concussion.

City parks officials say security guards were on duty over the weekend and will be working at the pools for the rest of the summer.

That’s all they’ll tell us, but I’m sending this story over to AR to see if they’ll make it part of today’s news.  There’s at least one poster who is a native and long-time resident of Buffalo, who should be able to do the reporting the media won’t do.

Old Line in the Sand

Maryland:  The next state with a Gubernatorial election this year where SB 1070 is becoming a big issue, even though at least in public, neither the incumbent, Democrat Martin O’Malley nor his Republican challenger, former Governor Bob Ehrlich (whom O’Malley toppled four years ago) has a position.  BUT — Any Democrat winning in Maryland benefits from the organizational might of a La Raza statewide offshoot called CASA De Maryland, so you know O’Malley is in his heart of hearts against immigration enforcement, even though it has come out he is one of the several unnamed Democrat Governors who is cringing at WH demagoguery on the SB 1070 issue for reasons of political expedience. (O’Malley would rather have stealth amnesty through non-enforcement, so it seems.)  And Ehrlich, whose immigration record in Congress and in his first term as Governor was wishy-washy, is at least giving the two-thirds of Old Liners who support SB 1070 aid and comfort.

First and Second

13 07 2010

On the table for cost-cutting measures in the British criminal justice system:

The reform would see Britain adopt a U.S. style system of first and second degree murder.

First degree murder would apply to killers who were found to have intended death or knew they were likely to kill, the Law Commission suggests.

Those who can show they intended merely ‘serious harm’ should be second degree murderers.

Someone at AR made a good point about this a few weeks ago, which I agree with completely.

It seems ass backwards to give people who commit the crime of Murder 2 fixed prison sentences short of the murderer’s functional lifetime, while those convicted of Murder 1 get either life in or death.  I mean, if you’re standing next to two murderers, one is a man who paid a hitman to off his wife for the life insurance money, and the other stabbed someone to death after a drunken bar fight outside the bar when the victim said something untoward, which murderer do you fear more?  To me, a man that can’t control his passions well enough to keep from murdering other people is more dangerous, and needs to be as long as the man who premeditates.  But in our legal system, the former man will die in prison, either sooner or later, while the latter is out in 15 years.

Also, I don’t like the implication of the dichotomy of two classes of murder.  The law is communicating the subtle message that victims of Murder 2 kinda sorta bought in on themselves.  Again, a conclusion which is ass backwards, because in the above scenario, can’t the wife be said to have bought it on herself by buying the life insurance policy?

Monday’s Stuff

*  This particular location used to be my drunk at 3 AM White Castle.  Don’t wanna go there at 3 AM anymore.  I’m guessing it’s all that city-enriching diversity from the nearby King Louis Square.

Obama FoPo.  FAIL.  This is all payback for WH demands that the Swiss crack open its banking privacy culture.

I know a club where this drink might be popular.

These teenagers aren’t joining the Taliban because Afghanistan is down to old men and boys.  They’re being made do to so because the Taliban crazies will know that the Infidel occupier is too obsessed with civil rights and human rights to mow down a teenager.

They don’t know who, but I can pretty much tell you why.  Hint:  69.

Hello Debt

12 07 2010

The last FY Federal budget entirely within the domain of a Republican President and Republican Congress ran up only $161 billion of red ink.  There was a $166 billion deficit on June 30, 2010 alone.

To be fair, not all of this is the Democrats’ fault.  The prescription drug benefit to Medicare didn’t kick in big time until after 2006, and Social Security and Medicare expenses were relatively in check before 2008, as that year was the first that first of the Baby Boomers could start getting Social Security — Next year, the first of the Boomer generation goes on Medicare.  So those relatively low deficit numbers of the Bush/Frist/Hastert era were thanks to a lucky calm before the storm.  (And lest we forget, ObamaCare?)

They keep telling us that the Yankee government owes us so much money.  Can I like hire a collection agency to try and get some of the money they owe me?  Let them ring their phone all hours of the day.  “Mr. Sam, please call us back as soon as possible in order to make a payment arrangement.  Mr. Sam, this is our last warning.  The next call will be from our legal department.”

“A Change of Window Figures”

“Oh, but the BNP is too radical.”  Yeah, it’s so radical it would actually let you into the country.

Hey, NAACP. Wanna Make a Quick $100,000?

12 07 2010

I know you could use the money.

ABC:

Tea Party members have used “racial epithets,” have verbally abused black members of Congress and threatened them, and protestors have engaged in “explicitly racist behavior” and “displayed signs and posters intended to degrade people of color generally and President Barack Obama specifically,” according to the proposed resolution.

Andrew Breitbart’s still got that 100 kilobuck offer open for anyone who can prove the first part.  He’s anxiously awaiting the proof you must have in order to be able to pass this resolution without getting slapped with a libel lawsuit.

“We’re deeply concerned about elements that are trying to move the country back, trying to reverse progress that we’ve made,” NAACP spokeswoman Leila McDowell told ABC News. “We are asking that the law-abiding members of the Tea Party repudiate those racist elements, that they recognize the historic and present racist elements that are within the Tea Party movement.”

Pay attention to the semantics here.  She’s implying that white racism is a crime.  Which would be news to me if true.

Then again, I wish I had a dime for every person I know who mistakenly thought that handguns had to be registered with some law enforcement authority, simply because it’s said so often on TV crime dramas.

Thanks a Heap, Jesse

12 07 2010

Just when we were all getting comfortable in our hatred of Dan Gilbert and LeBron James, you had to come along and make us sympathetic to both of them again.

The worst part about JJ’s rant is that it now moves a sports issue into the political arena.  You watch, conservative talk radio all day today will go on and on about this.  Of course, LeBron going to Miami was tangentially a political issue before, because of the state income tax thing.  But Jesse Jackson talking about slavery is like a cancer hitting the lymph nodes.

The only place where JJ is right is that this was nothing more than an adult man finishing his contractual obligations to one firm and then signing on with another.  IOW, he was finished being an $11 million a year slave, and now he’s a $16 million a year slave.  What belies JJ’s contention that Dan Gilbert thinks of LeBron as an escaped slave is that, as you know, Gilbert ultimately agreed to the sign-and-trade.  He technically traded his “slave” for several future “slaves.”

I agree that Gilbert let his mouth run ahead of his brain, or fire ready aim, you know how that goes.  (So do I; I’ve done this a few times in my life, which is why I compose virtually all of my blog posts in Notepad, then read them, then edit them, then correct all the spelling errors, then post them.)  However, that’s Jesse Jackson’s stock-in-trade.  Hell, as much as JJ thinks that Gilbert uses the escaped slave prose vis-a-vis his former star player, that’s the attitude that the Democrat Party has about black voters in general.  And in that arrangement, JJ is the House Negro.

South Florida Holds Championship Parade

11 07 2010

July 12, 2010

SOUTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (FNN) — The City of Miami and other South Florida municipalities held an advance championship parade for the Miami heat on Monday.  The parade, which took place along various streets in South Beach, is one that the National League of Cities describes as “audacious,” and various NBA general managers denounce as “arrogant,” but one which might save municipal governments in and the county government of Miami-Dade County money in the long run.

“You see, we’re expecting a severe hike in the cost of police and fire overtime in the next year,” said Tomás Regalado, Mayor of Miami.  “We might as well get the parade in now, while it’s still relatively inexpensive to have a sports championship parade.  Plus, the parade route goes right by Matt Drudge’s high rise condo, so it’s like instant publicity that even the Washington Post will take notice of.”

When asked if holding an advance championship parade was a wise move, Heat GM Pat Riley said, “Yeah, maybe.  But, c’mon.  Wade, LeBron, Bosh plus nine other scrubs you can pick up off the shirts-and-skins leagues along Biscayne Boulevard.  How doesn’t that win the title next year?”  Fake News Network further pressed Riley on how the reigning champions, the Los Angeles Lakers, would be motivated for next season upon hearing about the Heat and South Floridians celebrating the 2011 NBA Championship in advance.  “You see, I was their coach for a lot of years.  And I’ve done my homework when it comes to Los Angeles and the Lakers.  My intel is rock solid.  Believe me, Phil Jackson is an abusive tyrant, but his regime’s hold on power isn’t as strong as it seems — When we go into Staples Center for our first regular season game versus the Lakers this coming season, their fans will greet us as liberators.”

Small forward LeBron James thanked the crowd for cheering on the team for the championship it has not yet won.  “Oh yeah, we’re going for a repeat.  I wanna be right here really soon in another parade to celebrate our second consecutive unearned title.”  Power forward Chris Bosh broke out in rap lyrics to the team’s fight song, “Heat beez da shiznit, beyotch.”  For his part, shooting guard Dwayne Wade didn’t speak to the crowd, although he was seen on his parade float, which bore the “Mission Accomplished” banner, engaged in a tug of war with a woman dressed in a mental hospital gown, with Wade’s two children stuck in between them.

While condemnation has been near-universal from across the Association, the most unusual reaction came from Dan Gilbert, majority owner of James’s former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.  In a hastily-written statement to NBA.com on Thursday after James signed with the Heat, Gilbert promised that the Cavaliers would win a championship before James.  In a full-page letter in today’s Cleveland Plain Dealer, Gilbert apologized to the city and citizens of Cleveland and northeastern Ohio for not celebrating their championship in advance before James and the Heat did.  “Imagine what a parade-in-advance in Cleveland could have looked like,” an unnamed Gilbert aide told FNN.  “We could have set the Cuyahoga River on fire.”

President Obama will meet with the champions-in-advance at a White House ceremony on July 29, sandwiched between his regularly scheduled golf games, Chief-of-Staff Rahm Emanuel has confirmed.  A source close to David Axelrod has stated that the President will laud the champions in spite of their not actually having won, because “David wants the photo with Obama holding a Heat jersey with his name on it, anything that’ll get the Jews in Florida back on his side.  Florida is an absolute must-win for 2012.”

Sunday Wrap-Up

11 07 2010

*  Official Britain has cameras up everywhere, purportedly to stop crime and terrorism.  But it’s somehow controversial when retirees point cameras out their windows and hook the feeds up to the interwebs?  Yes it is, because it’s really hard to censor the latter; people might start to get the idea that Britain’s diversity isn’t its strength.  Note the part about Somalian and Afro-Caribbean street gangs bing-banging each other for dope territory.

Obama wants more PTSD and mental health care for vets.  Translation:  He wants more vets declared legally insane using whatever pretense the quacks known as psychiatrists can cook up, so that they legally can’t own guns.

*  Did you know?  Housing and employment discrimination against transsexual and transgendered individuals in St. Louis City is at such a crisis proportion, and indeed is the city’s most vexing problem, that the Board of Aldermen and Mayor had no choice but to act, and do it as quickly as possible.

*  Man, I tell you, the ingratitude of some people.  These Somalians emigrate to Britain out of the niceness of their hearts, providing London with some much-needed and long-overdue diversity, and how does Britain reward them?  By only giving them a rent-free apartment on a “poor” part of the city.  Thankfully, they’ve been moved to a £2.1million house in a more upscale suburb on the taxpayers dime, and one can only hope this partially makes up for the trauma of them being subjected to so much humiliating racism.

Disgraceland, Part II.

It is said here that there will be plenty of room for grandchildren.  That must mean that Ugly Betty and that obviously blind fool that’s marrying her are planning on procreating.  Ugh.

It’s also said that they’re plenty of room for Secret Service.  Except Clinton is the first ex-Prez that only gets 10 years post-Presidency.  So his SS protection ends on January 20, 2011.  And I don’t think Secretaries of State get SS protection.  I guess the President can extend it by fiat, but I don’t know.

*  The Coffee Parties flopped, so the left wingers are trying a new TPM counter called One Nation.

Oops.

*  We could have told you that money spent to “bridge the digital divide” was going to be a waste.  But we couldn’t have predicted that low-income children of junior high school or middle school age provided interweb-connected computers in their homes where there was none before would tend to do less well in school than they otherwise would have, as the computer merely provided another toy with which to goof off.

This Weekend’s 48th State Stack of Stuff

11 07 2010

I so wanted to be a fly on this wall.

A good comment to AR a few days ago:

The Constitution DOES NOT prohibit the states from regulating immigration or even naturalization.

Facts that nobody seems to bring up, but should to use in Arizona’s defense of it state sovereignty.

1. In no place in the constitution does Congress (i.e. Federal Gov’t) have exclusive control over naturalization and immigration. Congress does have the power in Article I, Section 8, Clause 4, to “establish a uniform rule of naturalization,” but this power is not denied to the states in Article I, Section X. As a result the 10th Amendment then gives the states the power to regulate foreign immigration and naturalization.

2. Up until the 1890s the states actually regulated foreign immigration. Entry ports like Castle Garden in New York were actually regulated by the state of NY and not the federal gov’t. States could and did deny entry to foreigners.

3. Also, the Constitution only protects citizens moving from one state to another, found in Article 4, Section 2, Clause 1. However, the Constitution clearly does not afford non-citizens the same protections. A state can actually forbid non-citizens from entering their state. Before the Civil War several states actually prohibited certain non-citizens residency.

The federal government has already ceded this power in fact because it has allowed several cities to establish sanctuary provisions or non-enforcement of federal immigration law. Under what justification then could states be prohibited from enforcing the federal immigration law.  The power has already been given up by the federal government.

Of course the federal government will claim federal law is supreme, but that is a matter for debate and has been since Madison and Jefferson stated that the states have the power to check the power of the federal government through nullification.

Is the federal government willing to wage war on Arizona if the people of Arizona decide to nullify federal immigration laws?

Anyone need to challenge the facts or legal reasoning here?  The only legal thing which might make the legal reasoning here not true is that the Feds explicitly removed immigration from state jurisdiction a number of decades ago, i.e. there cannot be concurrent Federal and state immigration laws.  However, SB 1070 doesn’t create concurrent state immigration laws; any actual enforcement is still up to the Feds and ICE (which is of course the weak link).

*  Speaking of the AZLDF, a disproportionate percentage of the money coming into it is coming from New York State.  I’m waiting for the first moron New York City politician, in pursuit of first prize at the Peggy West Geography Bee, to bash his or her own state’s people for doing this, by saying that New York isn’t on a border.

*  Hopefully, a lot of money is coming from Massachusetts, too.

*  Arizona, be warned:  You better not let all those illegal Swedes and Norwegians go free.

Gave In To The YouTube Parodies

11 07 2010

Bought it, got it, watched it this weekend.

The most ironic part about the movie was when Hitler was in the bunker, complaining about the “decadence of western democracies.”  Thirty feet above his head, some of his high ranking military officers, Nazi Party officials and various connected women were drinking, drugging it up, stripping and fucking like there was no tomorrow, which there really wasn’t, all in the obvious presence of young children from the HYC and teenage and pre-teen boys who were the last new recruits in the German Army.

The most factually incorrect part was about how easily German women were able to slither by the marching Russian occupiers.  In truth, Russian soldiers raped two million German women within the parts of pre-Hitler German borders (not counting German-occupied parts of Eastern Germany) that they were able to capture.

Now, consider those royalties that the IP rights holder to Downfall will now get because I bought the DVD.  It’s money they wouldn’t have had if all those YT parodies, which they demanded be purged from YT a few months ago (but many more are back), never existed.
