Dip Shit City

Ezra Klein, writing in the WaPo:

Six facts about guns, violence, and gun control

(snip)

2. The South is the most violent region in the United States.

It’s also the blackest region in the United States.

5. States with stricter gun control laws have fewer deaths from gun-related violence.

Those states are less black than the national average.  Either they’re relatively black-free New England states, or states like California whose black population is declining due to other factors, mainly Hispanic economic competition.

Oh, this gives me an opportunity to trot out one of the few posts I’ve written recently with any actual original work in it.

In sum, New Hampshire, with very lax gun control laws, has lower homicide rates than western and central Europe. Louisiana is a different story. No US state has a homicide rate approaching southern Africa’s, because no US state is as Black as southern Africa.

A disarmed, disempowered citizenry will eventually rise up and millions will die from war. The left wing folks who ignore world history conveniently forget to mention how many died in Europe from gun violence prior to 1945.

Oh yeah, and blacks are far more violent than other races. And the lefties forget to mention that in their urbane, alleged analysis.
