Orange County isn’t alone in choosing to monitor students. Schools in Alabama and California have adopted similar social-media-mining software. In Huntsville, Ala., 14 kids were expelled because of social media posts in 2014. The content of the posts was not made public, but a school board member told AL.com that expulsions result only from serious offenses involving drugs, weapons or sex. Twelve out of the 14 were black, despite the schools’ population of about 40 percent black students and 60 percent white. The expulsions raised concerns from a county commissioner that social media monitoring unfairly targeted black students, according to AL.com. The case raises questions about which students are most vulnerable when digitally tracked by the school and police working in concert.
(1) You knew there would be massive wreck at the intersectionality of preventing school violence and shutting down the school to prison pipeline. You can’t exactly accuse the modern left of being good at systems integration.
(2) Because everyone is supposed to be paranoid about suspending black students, the only way they’re going to be suspended is if they do something major league bad, so bad that suspending them is the only option, because the districts’ insurance carriers exert a lot of pressure on school boards and district admins. The insurance industry is the only known predator to social justice warriorism.
(3) This points to one of the running themes in this space, that big data and analytics is how we do racial profiling while giving ourselves plausible deniability.

Steve Sailer recently observed that white Americans in the NBA went to high schools that had next to no if not absolutely no blacks, and you can see why from both the links in this post and if you also are conversant in HBD.

Foreign nationals arrested for trafficking stolen identities
Two foreign nationals from Africa were arrested in Tuesday for allegedly trafficking stolen identities, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
According to Lt. Andy Binder, a sheriff’s office spokesman, deputies responded to a single car accident involving a BMW at the Cuivre River Bridge at Highway 61.
The driver, 24-year-old Abdalaziz Ramazani Asumani of the Republic of the Congo, told deputies he didn’t need any assistance but wanted to know where the nearest bus station could be found.
“Absolutely red flag. Any seasoned law enforcement officer will know something is wrong,” Binder said.
Nah, we all know what the real red flag was. We don’t see these kinds of well tanned Mutt and Jeff duos running around Lincoln County every day. Just make up some cock and bull about one of them asking about a bus depot, so their defense lawyers can’t use “the cops did racial profiling” to bork the case.

Alderman Complains That Volume-Based Trash Fee is ‘Tax On Mexicans’
A Latino alderman is rejecting an idea to charge for garbage pickup by volume as “a tax on Mexicans.”
Ald. George Cardenas (12th) made the playful comment to City Hall reporters Monday, but the issues behind it are as loaded as a garbage cart on pickup day.
“Our families are big families, so that’s a tax on Mexicans,” Cardenas said, clearly joking about the idea to charge by volume.
Strangely, because of the media blackout and media censorship of such matters, most people don’t know how much trash certain south of the border vibrants can leave in a given place.

I don’t think race or religion made the school’s overreaction any more severe or disproportionate. They would have reacted the same way if Mr. Mohamed was white; it’s just that schools are really tipsy and on edge to the point of paranoia. And I now think the root cause of their paranoia is financial pressure from their insurance carriers.
I do think that race and religion are driving the responses on the part of people like Baraq Obama, Hillary Clinton and Mark Zuckerberg. They are incorrectly and needlessly making this a matter of racial profiling.

A threatening call followed by shots fired toward police in Aurora Sunday prompted a safety advisement for officers in Colorado.
According to a warning sent to law enforcement Monday, a caller contacted Aurora 911 dispatch around 5:45 p.m Sunday via a disconnected Cricket cell phone. The male caller sounded as if he was attempting to disguise his voice, or was possibly using a recording, the warning said.
