The Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate seat in Nebraska open this year because of the Cornhusker Kickbacker’s retirement. She is currently the state Senator for the state’s largest and most rural legislative district, in the north central part of the state. (Nebraska’s state legislature is unicameral)
Most of the analysis of this race was over the close horse race between the two main contenders, the Treasurer and the Attorney General. Both of them had enough foibles, and that combined with Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Miss Fischer meant that the two statewide office holders beat each other up enough for her to slide through.
Sarah Steelman will probably interpret this as good karma, just on gender alone.
Her TV buy:
It mentions CCW and immigration, namely opposing in-state tuition for Nebraska’s growing population of illegal aliens. Amazingly, Nebraska didn’t get CCW until relatively recently.
