No illegal immigrant in his right mind would sign up for President Obama’s temporary immigration policy change
Why would anyone illegally in this country like and participate in the President’s new change in immigration policy? It is an ICE bulls eye on the illegals back — and could convert that so called dream into a giant nightmare.
Think about this:
Under the President’s new immigration policy, those here illegally, but who came here before age 16 and are younger than 30 (and meet certain other qualifications) may sign up and get work permits. That might sound good…but think deeper. The President’s new policy is a TEMPORARY PROGRAM – a TWO YEAR PROGRAM (yes, it could be extended but right now it is only a two year protection from deportation.)
To get that work permit, the person here illegally would have to admit being here illegally (why else would the person need a work permit?) and provide all sorts of personal info (e.g. where to find the person!) In other words, the person would be putting a big target on his or her back for ICE deportation in two years when the program expires (if not extended.)
What person here illegally (and in his right mind), will go to the government, ANNOUNCE BEING HERE ILLEGALLY (e.g. plead guilty), provide all sorts of information as to where that person lives etc. to get a work permit only to be a target for deportation in two years? Or, perhaps sooner if Governor Romney is elected and he decides to cancel the temporary program? Answer: no one.
Then again, if you’re in this situation and you qualify, why wouldn’t you sign up? Who is going to thump you even if you do implicitly admit that you’re an illegal alien? We know that a Democrat President’s ICE won’t, and the last two and a half Republican Presidents have ignored immigration law. Do you expect the Republican Party to spit out a truly right wing Presidential nominee in the near future, especially since Presidential campaigns cost big money, and big money Republican-oriented donors (read: Sheldon Adelson, Chamber Pot of Commerce, farm bureau, etc.) want cheap labor? Do you expect Congressional Republicans to have the stones to play hardball to get a Democrat or an open borders Republican to start enforcing immigration law? They would rather be thrown in a boiling hot cauldron pot of sewage placed in the pit of hell than be accused of “racism.”
“Or, perhaps sooner, if Gov. Romney is elected and cancels the program.” What you handin’ out, Greta? Hell, he can’t even publicly commit to doing that!
Let’s look at the other side of this coin. A negative side effect of this that I forgot until today is that this will only serve as a magnet for more illegals to sneak into the country, so they can get in on this program (if they’re 16-29 yo themselves) or their children, if they have offspring in that age range. Hurry up and get into the country while you still have time to sign up for this scheme.
