Hands Up Don’t Drop the Ball

Yahoo Sports:

Several St. Louis Rams entered the field for Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders with their hands raised in a “don’t shoot” fashion. The hands-raised stance is a message of support for Ferguson, a St. Louis suburb wracked by violence in recent months.

According to observers, Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, Kenny Britt, Chris Givens, and Jared Cook all raised their hands. Ferguson, located just 12 miles from the Edward Jones Dome, was the site of an incident this past summer when police officer Darren Wilson shot and killed teenager Michael Brown. When a grand jury declined to indict Wilson earlier this week, riots broke out across Ferguson.

Four wide receivers and a tight end.  And of course all black.

They should be more worried about getting those hands in the air to catch passes.

And of course the handsupdontshoot rabble is outside the dome ready to terrorize departing fans.

Reminds me of something.

SLPOA wants the NFL to discipline them for conduct unbecoming.

I checked the Yahoo piece and the comments were almost unanimously anti-player and their Gentle Giant hero.

Obviously the fact that the ‘hands up don’t shoot’ line was shown by the GJ investigation to be a total fabrication has no effect whatsoever. With Blacks you have to lower your expectations, so this is not surprising; wait and see if the NFL takes any action against them — 50/50.

The media is mostly to blame for this — right from the outset they promoted the notion that Wilson ‘executed’ Brown, and then immediately questioned the GJ findings. Not to mention their role in inculcating Blacks lifelong with the idea that the racism of Whites is everywhere and pervasive. Facts don’t matter to them either — ‘journalists’.

Re Britt: here’s la wik on this upstanding citizen:

On April 12, 2011, Britt was arrested in New Jersey on three counts (including a felony) following an alleged car chase with police. The charges were later reduced.[9] On June 7, Britt pled guilty to careless driving and was fined.[10] On June 8, 2012, Britt was arrested in Hoboken, NJ, charged with resisting arrest.[11] On January 13, 2013, Britt’s close personal friend was involved in a stabbing and Britt reportedly drove him to the Jersey City Medical Center. When police attempted to ask Britt about the incident, he was allegedly not willing to cooperate. The incident marks the ninth time Britt was involved with police since he joined the NFL.[12] In May 2014, a sex video briefly appeared on Britt’s Instagram. The Rams announced they were looking into the incident. [13]

Thanks for the info.

IMO NFL teams can employ thugs if they want to. What bothers me a lot more is that these guys are admitted to colleges and universities (which mostly serve as the minor leagues for pro football), and we’re apparently supposed to take them seriously as “student athletes”. It’s disgusting.

Exactly! It’s their money and company, hire whomever they wish. But admitting illiterate criminal savages into our universities? Hell no!

I checked the Clan Ram Forum and there was a thread on the subject. Although these fan forums have plenty of black athlete worship, the majority of the posters did not like the “hands-up” bit.

The cognitive dissonance from white football fans is at least an 8 on the Richter scale.

It's your dime, spill it. And also...NO TROLLS ALLOWED~!
