Thirteen states go today, the only five which aren’t sure fire Trump wins are Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado and Minnesota.  The first three will be Cruz if not Trump, the last two Rubio if not Trump.  As far as Texas goes, anything less than an absolute majority for Cruz is a win for Trump, because Texas has 155 delegates, and Cruz needs to win it with an absolute majority in order to get all 155 to get himself back into the delegate race.  And no poll shows Cruz with an absolute majority, even if they show him in the lead.

What’s wrong with Arkansas and Oklahoma? They ought to be firmly in Trump’s column.

They also border Texas.

Thomas: In one word, Evangelicals. As an Oklahoman, I’m hoping we put Trump ahead of Travelling Revivalist and Faith Healer Cruz. I was at my polling place at 7:30 a.m. this morning and there were more people in line than are usually there on general election day.

I get that, but are there not plenty of Evangelicals in places like Alabama that are solidly Trump? As for Oklahoma and Arkansas, I can’t imagine that many voting for Cruz simply because he is from a bordering state.

@Thomas: There are plenty of Evangelicals in Alabama, of course. And I’m not giving up on OK and AR going for Trump. But speaking principally for OK here, we have been somewhat insulated from a lot of the economic pain that has been felt in other states, and the culture wars that have been fought, both of which have helped fuel Trump’s popularity.

Not that all is well, here, it’s not. But race relations have been more placid than in some areas, and the economy has bumped along in a survivable sort of way. I don’t think there is quite as much anger as there probably ought to be.

And we have a LOT of Bible-toting Southern Baptist do-gooders.

Finally, we have a lot of belligerent Scots-Irish descent folks who are amenable to our endless warring in the Middle-East. They’re very proud of America’s military, and not afraid to (ab)use it, I’d say.

So Cruz and his Israel-centric swagger is a very comfortable fit for Oklahomans. Hey, don’t blame me, I already voted. For Trump. And I was at a raucous, packed-to-the-rafters Trump rally here a few weeks ago, so as I said, the State could be good to Mr. Trump.

IDK, it seems like Trump is letting in some Neocohens into his cabinet. Laffer and Moore are worrisome. I don’t know too much about bennett but others have said he’s the worst.

Laffer doesn’t bother me that much, the rest can go take a long walk off a short bridge.

I just got a call from a pollster for Rubio. I really enjoyed telling them the truth :)

Pool Boy made it close in Virginia, but then again, I should have seen it coming: Northern Virginia is full of big government Republicans mainly attached to the military-industrial complex.

Trump held a conventional presser at Mar-a-Lago instead of a victory rally; I think it was good optics, to make him seem Presidential after a night in which that actually coming to pass is much more of a possibility.

Big Ricky needed to do these things tonight to remain viable:

(1) Win Texas with an absolute majority
(2) Win Oklahoma
(3) Win Arkansas

He only accomplished #2.

FoamBoy is currently ahead in MN. Tell me it ain’t so; at least the count is in the early stages. I will do a Marco Rubio- style dance if he gets NO wins tonight. The dance will be performed in the privacy of my own home, however, and you can’t say Marco has always been that discreet. I can’t abide that little weasel.

Trump gave a masterful answer earlier to a question about the RNC possibly taking his win away through convention chicanery. He couched it in a positive way. Very politically savvy, I thought. Looks like this whole President Trump thing just might happen. If the RNC tries something fancy, they might be making a kamikaze move. Or should I say “suicide bomber”. “Conservative Jihad”.

It is so, and it looks like he’s gonna win it. Which means he’s got his footnote and asterisk for all history. Actually, he’s doing pretty well in a lot of urban areas, among high income voters. It’s how he came in a close third in Oklahoma, he in fact won Oklahoma County.

A few days ago NRO said Rubio would win Virginia to “maintain momentum.” As it happened, Trump won Virginia, though Rubio will claim “close” as a victory.
