Trump the Foreign Policy Debutant

Washington, D.C.

It just started, nowhere near over, but I can already net it out:

Trump drops trou, and tells neocons and neolibs to suck it.

When we finally get someone who overtly asserts the primacy of Western civilization and of the nation-state and overtly states the dangers of globalism, using those exact words, it turns out to be Donald Trump. Who ever could have figured.

None of the other Republican candidates this year could have given this speech. The only other person in my lifetime who was a serious Presidential candidate who could have is Pat Buchanan. J-Pod snarked on the Tweeter that this was a Rand Paul kind of FoPo speech; the problem is that this rhetoric is a bit too invested in nationalism for someone of Rand Paul’s libertarian, or watered down libertarian, set of proclivities.

Newt absolutely drives me crazy. He constantly goes back and forth between sane and batshit wackadoodle. But for as much as I can’t stand it when he’s on my bad side, he stood by us four years ago when everyone else that had a name ran away, and he’s been a Trump apologist for almost as long as Trump has been running.

Newt’s been like that (back and forth) for 30 years now.

How could you be so anti-Semitic as to tell the truth about Jennifer Rubin’s appearance?
