Let That Sink In

Manhattan

They said it was going to be the strongest most vibrant diverse interesting accomplished Republican Presidential field of this generation.

Donald Trump just beat every last one of ’em.

Draw your own conclusions.

This 75.7 million figure only counts over the air buys and only counts non-candidate SPAC/527 outfits. It doesn’t count non-terrestrial broadcast, doesn’t count direct candidate buys, doesn’t count other candidates’ positive ads. All together, “the strongest field in a generation” or its vassals probably spent north of $200 million, and none of it was able to help them beat or help them take down someone who has never run for public office before, and someone who has probably only spent about $2 million (educated guess) since making up his mind to run.

Maybe it really wasn’t that strong of a group.

This, also what I’ve been saying, which means you’ve been paying attention. Good doggy. Have a doggy treat.

I actually think it’s a combination of both the “strong field” conventional wisdom being wrong and Trump tapping into new plentiful political energy.

Even before Trump got in, I never thought it was a strong field. It was just your usual assortment of true believer ideological cultists to one degree or another or one ideology or another, or establishment go-along-to-get-along hacks, or professional candidates who know they have no chance to win but want a media gig or a book deal or some other consideration, plus what seems to be the obligatory magic negro that every contested Republican field simply must have. I didn’t think that any of these people had the ability, to put it in basketball terms, to create their own shot. (James Edwards gets this analogy right away, I’m sure.) To put that another way, none of them had the ability to win a November election based on their own merits and abilities, that if they actually won, it would only be because of circumstances beyond their control, such as conditions imploring voters to vote against the party in power, the Democrat nominee screwing up, etc.

Only Trump among everyone who got into this field has the ability to create his own shot.

One nationalist in a field of globalists (Carson doesn’t count as a real contender). Trump IS the diversity.

If you have a tendency to schadenfreude, a perusal of the neocon, lamestream, cuck sites today will help satisfy you.

I saw one on Crud State claiming that Trump is Ron Paul.

Uh, no, because unlike Ron Paul, Trump’s first primary or caucus victory meant that he had more of those than Ron Paul ever got in two different tries at running for President.

And remember the GOP field had two Time Magazine cover boys, Marco “The Republican Savior” Rubio and Rand “The Most Interesting Man in Politics” Paul.

I checked out their Twitter feeds last night. Lotta whining on Jacobus’s TL, but Wilson was running his mouth like usual. The rest of them were fairly quiet.

Because they’re plotting ways to worm into the Trump orbit.

I’m sure the ones who were smart enough not to get into a slapfight with the Alt Right are.

Orders from Carlos Slim? Seems to me that a 500 percent tariff on phone calls to Mexico would fund quite a bit of The Wall.

I bet a lot of important Mexicans own Trump Tower condos. The last thing they need are (ahem cough) visa problems.

Caught between the hammer of Trump’s media machine and the anvil of his online troll army, The Donald’s opponents never stood a chance. Trump understands the internet, and the internet might just propel him into the White House. Meme magic is real.

Of course Milo would wrote (erotically?) about hammers and anvils.

He needs to keep it to himself. Nobody wants to hear about his “antiwhite bedroom.”
