The high water mark for this statistic with this demographic is the 79% of the evangelical Christian vote that Bush got in 2004 and Romney got in 2012.  If Trump gets that 81%, he’ll set the record.  And that, would be something, because you can’t get 81% of any group to agree on the color of an orange.

But but but, Trump’s in trouble with evangelicals, they kept saying.

They’re saying the words, as if they’re getting comfortable with the concept, or trying to get their own blue team comfortable with it. Point being, the more they say it, the more people will be comfortable with hit.
