A quote of his to remember, just in case you’re getting punch drunk on all the postmortem hagiography today.

And also, we now have a whole weekend in front of us of important news getting ignored and buried.

Someone on Twitter reminded me about this:

Here’ s a question for the Peanut Gallery. What was often said about the Heavyweight Championship when Ali was champion that is never said today?

Best fighter on Earth?

Wrong. Hint: The answer covers more than being the best fighter on earth.

Best athlete on Earth?

No. Another hint. The answer reflects a certain kind of supremacy

And this is correct. The notion that he did is MSM bullshit that they’re bottling and selling to dopey white libs and cucks.

Here’s the answer to my question. Someone the Blogmeister’s age hasn’t been exposed to it as often a Baby Boomer has.

When Ali held the title, one angle his white liberal and black fans loved was “The Heavyweight Champion is the symbol of Physical Supremacy.” Until the Klitschkos, only two white men were Heavyweight Champion after 1937, and none (I don’t count Coetzee) for some 45 years after 1960.

I can’t tell you how many times I read a column or article chortling that a white man would never again hold the heavyweight title. Nobody foresaw that Eastern Europeans being allowed to fight in the West would bring back the white heavyweight champion.

Since the Klitschko brothers, the idea of the Heavyweight Champion being the symbol of physical supremacy vanished.

At least i haven’t seen it.

Since the Klitschkos, the sports media don’t seem to be much interested in the heavyweight division.

My view exactly.

Heavyweight boxing started getting pushed as a media event very close to the time of the “civil” “rights” act. Didn’t WBA form in the early ’60s?

Who was promoting all that in the media–all that Free At Last/slaves in Egypt, I mean Georgia, stuff? (I’m young enough that my mediated sports factoids don’t go back earlier than Roone Arledge.)

Cassius Clay’s handlers went along with this and the narrative of turning brutal, physically violent black men into cultural icons of white worship.

You’re probably too young to remember Howard Cohen, aka Cosell–a key figure in elevating Ali to idolatry. While elevating his own media career as well. A perfectly parasitic relationship, both between them and both of them with the white sports-viewing public. This was early reality TV.

The (((MSM))) created Ali. They refuse to create white men as athletic heroes, and when white athletic heroes arise, they erase them. This whole thing is (((rancid))).

Without the Iron Curtain, Ali would have been a footnote, not a main course. World heavyweight boxing in the 20th century was every bit as invented and constructed and ideologically obvious as the media frenzy around Sts. Michaels King and Brown.

I don’t remember Howard Cosell as a matter of conscious direct memory, but I am aware of the history, if you want to call that bilge real history.

The more a sport depends on the subjective judgment of people and less on a raw score or tally to determine the winner, the more politics will pay into the sport. (See also: Figure skating.) Politics of course is a word whose etymology ultimately traces back to “poeple.”

The nose goblins who run Boxing ran Whites out of the sport. Marciano clobbered every single one of their colored slaves. The jew loves how stupid blechs are, and steal most of their purses. They fiddled with the rankings to make sure blech retards kept the belt so they could steal them blind. No attention span and bad math skill leads to seriously looting of blech champions. When they sued, a nose goblin said so sorry, and kicked their broke asses to the curb. They love MONEY not blechs. The blech is an all day sucker.
The Klitschkos came and clobbered some of their slaves who were just fighting each other. The Eastern European style only seen at the Olympics was way out of their league. That fool Jamaican Lennox Lewis, just managed a pyrrhic victory of a decision before deciding to bow out. The Klitschkos took the belts to the Russian Sphere where the crooks in Vegas couldn’t bribe the refs and judges to reclaim the gold. Those slimy little rats are hoping to get them back again, but I doubt there will ever again be Whites lining up to see their blech slaves after Citizen Osama Obama Yomamma. They better find another scam or pack their little carpet bags.

Lewis’ “victory” over V.Klitschko was a TKO — Technical, because Vitali was bleeding like a stuck pig in the 6th round (didn’t affect his fighting ability, but it looked ugly). Klitschko was winning on all scorecards, but since the ring doctor ruled he was unable to continue, Lewis won… technically.
One thing I like about watching Klitschko matches, is alot of them are in Germany, where the ring announcers speak German (natuerlich). When they say “diese kampf…”, you realize that other German guy’s “kampf” wasn’t a limp-wristed, mistranslated “struggle”, but a real fucking Fight.

Per the Blogmeister’s comment above, the MSM, dopey white liberals, and cucks want to believe Ali “transcended race and belonged to all people.”

Blacks, of course, will have none of it.

I commented thusly at Steve Sailer:

***

I don’t hold his “draft dodging” against him. After all, who wanted to go and die in that useless meat grinder? Even though someone as famous as him probably wouldn’t have been sent to active combat. Remember, Elvis was drafted, too, and from what I understand, his duties in service were rather plum. Even though when Elvis was in, we weren’t involved in any kind of hot conflict.

But as far as his reasoning for not wanting to go to ‘Nam? He needed to miss us with that by five hundred yards.

First off, wherever Muslims go, there always seems to be war or terrorism. Some peaceful religion, huh?

Second, his draft status was changed to 1-A in February 1966. Contra his notion that he was being sent to “fight” for a racist country, by that time, the Federal government had legislatively passed a major civil rights act which was already being enforced, a major voting rights act which was already being enforced, we had kritarchily dismantled formal school segregation, and two different Presidents had issued two different executive orders which got the ball rolling on affirmative action.

No, he just didn’t want to lose his athletic prime. Turns out he did anyway.

Okaybut, Muhammad Ali was black, so his masculinity was okay. The only kind of masculinity that is bad is that of cishet white goys.
