VEGA$

Your Blogmeister’s Hotel Room

There was a late ’70-early ’80s sorta Rockford Files imitation gumshoe drama series called “Vega$.”

How can you tell if you were a nerd?

Most people saw that show’s time and channel in the TV Guide, and said “Vegas.”

Nerds saw it, and said “Vega string.”

Is your hotel too in Vegas? If so, let me know by email if you’d like to meet over coffee or something.

No, not quite Vegas. More like Lake of the Ozarks.

Be on the lookout for cellphones and propane tanks.

Weren’t strings declared with the $ in front, e.g. $vega ? Maybe I’m thinking of perl. I vaguely recall some diptard back in the day saying “name-dollar” instead of “name-string”.

Basic had the string after.

I loved that show’s theme song.

My God but you must be old. No one has used BASIC since Steve Jobs made a computer easy enough for idiots like leftist social justice weenies could use. But then that Evil Bastard Bill Gates put it over DOS and ruined it. Bastard. I used to write old string programs that some fools thought might be AI programs. You know most people aren’t very smart. That’s why I hate democracy.
