Fossil Brain

Washington, D.C.

Good.

But, as I wrote at AR:

In spite of that, Charles Murray has really been ticking me off lately.

He has had a handful of tweets lately in which he takes swipes at the alt-right. I read them, and think to myself: “Hey chief, who do you think are the only people remaining who read, care about and defend your more controversial works?”

That is of course not counting the fact that he’s come down with a bad case of TDS, Trump Derangement Syndrome.

I think what it is with Murray, is that his brain is fossilized in the year that he and Herrnstein wrote TBC. He still thinks somehow that neoconservatives and right-libertarians are what they were in 1994 and before, that is, somewhat useful and interesting people pressing on some important matters, instead of what they have become in the years since then, noxious invade the world invite the world borderline cultural Marxists (in the case of the neos) or borderline cultural Marxists who happen to believe in laissez-faire economics (in the case of the right-libertarians).

But “high-skill” turd world immigration is still ok right? Do we freeze it, or increase it to make up for the lowered quota of low-skill immigrants?
CM: “a prestigious think-tank in D.C. admitted that each low-skill migrant costs taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
The dollars are the least of the cost.

The problem with Murray’s low skill high skill dichotomy is that limiting one but not the other is useless, because either one creates an economy-wide multi-sector downward pressure on wages and salaries.

“However, he also said he was “not impressed by worries about losing America’s Anglo-European identity” and claimed he’d “rather live in a Little Vietnam or a Little Guatemala neighborhood, even if I couldn’t read the store signs, than in many white-bread communities I can think of.”” – That’s the thing, it wouldn’t be Little Guatemala, it will be Little America, and he and those like him are damned well going to be on white side of the razorwire fencing.

Does he actually live in Little Vietnam or Little Guatemala? DMV (shorthand for D.C. and its suburbs, (D)istrict of Columbia (M)aryland (V)irginia, has plenty of Guatemala towns and Vietnam towns, yet, Murray probably lives in an expensive mostly white suburb.

Even if he did, it is still surrounded by the very identity he professes to scorn, and that restrains the area from getting really vietnamy or guatemaleany.

He lives in Burkittsville MD, in 2010 the population was 151 (99.3% White, 1.7% Hispanic, 0.7% Asian). Median household income was $50,313 in the 2000 census.

It’s in Frederick County, county seat of the same name. Frederick is where the Maryland I-270 that ends at the Capital Beltway on one end has its other end at I-70, so Frederick is probably a DC exurb. However, Burkittsville seems to be in a rural undeveloped part of that county. Zillow shows Frederick to be a bit pricey, but Burkittsville and surrounding areas to be cheap.

His town may be 99% White, but he’s still only a ten minute drive from the best Pho Burritos this side of the Potomac.

I can’t find it now, but there was a Youtube video of an interview with Murray shot in his home office where he discussed the impact of IT and the internet on his work habits. He said that he rarely needs to travel to the AEI headquarters in DC anymore. What a country, eh? Living in a Whitopia, and telecommuting to work. No need to see any nasty diversity at all if he doesn’t want to. We’ll believe his remark about “Little Guatemala” when he actually moves there.

What annoys me most about his late-life conversion on immigration is not his clinging to NeverTrumpism, nor even his claim that working-class White discontent (as expressed through Trump) made him see the light. Folks like Sailer, Derb and Jared Taylor have been pointing out his immigration blind spot for years. No, it’s his shameless jockeying for a leadership position within the alt-Lite that annoys me. Call me a cynic, but I bet he looks at guys like Molyneux and Dave Rubin and thinks he should be just as popular.

What I like about these alt movements is they’re grassroots, have low barriers to entry, they’re still fluid enough to be unable to impose litmus tests or ideological purity, and yet contain “nodes” of old-timers who have laid the groundwork in many areas. So I’m not criticizing Murray for wanting to be a part of them, in fact he already is a part of them in a sense, but he has had a soapbox for decades and his silence about immigration and his bashing of figures on the alt-Right has been destructive.

(((Murray))) isn’t just a hypocrite, he’s a parasite. He shares the paranoia his kind are so well known for and some have said the Bell Curve was actually an insider warning to (((his community))) that Whites were beginning to notice how they were being squeezed out at all costs and how (((they))) were taking all the top spots and making the servants brown. All the hub-bub and anger may have just been blowback from (((them))) that he and (((Hernstein))) were not going along with the program. (((Murray))) has now joined the fold and is all in for the Final Battle about to come.
