The Longest Fuse Is Not of Infinite Length

Chicago

O’Keefe’s latest sting is self-explanatory.

And here’s what I think is the most interesting part, only because it has been my serial concern for the last two years:

Foval also tells Project Veritas’s undercover journalist that Republicans are less adept at such tactics because they obey rules: “They have fewer guys willing to step out on the line for what they believe in. … There is a level of adherence to rules on the other side that only when you’re at the very highest level, do you get over.”

For now.

Except:

Zero Hedge, back on Friday:

My own experience is that Hillary’s so-called Deplorables are actually the most reserved, most polite, and most honest demographic in the country. They are more informed, more self-reliant, and among other things, better armed. Regarding their arms, they are incredibly responsible, and not the source of the violence for which the implement, and not the person, is too often blamed. The Deplorables have the longest fuse. It is, however, a fuse.

Vox, June of the last current year:

White Christian conservative attachment to the Constitution and traditional American ideals such as representative democracy are consequences of their deeper attachments. Once those connections severed, they are simply a larger, more dedicated, more effective, and better-armed group playing the game of power. I tend to doubt post-democracy is going to be all that those celebrating it now believe it will be.

When that happens, then things will start to get better, but not until then.  It will eventually happen, because the other side is, in spite of themselves, making it happen.

The republic is dead, long live the king.
