Apropos of nothing:

Doing this from my phone, so I might screw this up.

That same spot, today, as close as I can get on GSV and in about the same directional view:,-90.2324737,3a,75y,20.71h,88.69t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sc8qd_L68wdP1Uc3NVjmMuw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?hl=en

Much is made of the St. Louis streetcars ending in 1966. In reality, that was when the final line ended operations. In reality, by the start of 1963, only three streetcar lines remained, and most were taken out of service and free moving buses took over their lines from around 1955 to 1961. This, the Grand Avenue line, which, as this says, went out of service just after the start of 1960, for the replacement of the first Grand viaduct over the tracks, (though it’s not actually that close to where this photo was taken), was a biggie in terms of public streetcar usage, and, is probably still to this day the most used public bus line. So when its streetcars were taken off, that was actually more the end than the actual last one six years later.

Take the GSV vantage point but turn it around, and you can see the building where I took both the SAT and ACT, a long long time ago. Now that I say that, I suddenly remember that next week (won’t say which day for my security) is the 25th anniversary of my high school graduation, so I’ll have to make a mental note to get in touch with some of my classmates. I don’t think they’re doing a formal reunion, (and it’s not as if I could actually go to it anyway), for I would have been contacted if one was in the works. But then I realize that it has already been a frickin’ quarter of a century.

I see what you did there.

I don’t even see what I did there, until you pointed it out.

(1) Outdoors
(2) Warm weather (apparently, for people to feel comfortable in an outdoor swimming pool)
(3) All involved weren’t showing any symptoms

It is pretty unlikely that this is going to be a mass spreading event.

It's your dime, spill it. And also...NO TROLLS ALLOWED~!
