Supreme Court and Conceal Carry.

I’m not a lawyer, let’s just start with that.

But what I think it looks like from the Supreme Court ruling that just happened is that a state or a part of a state can’t do may issue, because may issue relies too much on some person’s subjective judgment. So it means they either have to do shall issue plus all the rules, or no issue.

I honestly don’t bark that this ruling is going to change that much of anything in real life. But I could be wrong.

It took me 15 hours of driving to do a trip that normally only takes 7.5, including pit stops. But yes, I have made it to the foothills of the Bavarian Alps in one piece (kinda).

During one of my pit stops, I saw in the feeds the news about this SCOTUS thing.

It’s going to take someone reading the majority opinion, but that’s not going to be me, ’cause I don’t have time.

But my very hot guess is that the majority opinion either invokes SubDue (5th) or EPL (14th), to strike down the may issue paradigm. If I was forced to pick one, it would probably be EPL, b/c SubDue is more for when the legal mechanism in question has the ability to bring about an actual human or legal equivalent of a human defendant.

That said, unless the majority opinion is very profound and groundbreaking and precedential, then, you’re right, it will make no difference in practical application in jurisdictions to whom this decision matters. I predict the may issue states will become shall issue but make the process so restrictive that it’s close to the functional equivalent of no issue. In fact, this could actually mean that things get worse for non-urban areas of what are currently may issue states, because the authorities outside the cities in may issue states are functionally shall issue. If to abide by SCOTUS, the whole state that used to be “may” has to go to “shall” that’s “no” in real world practical reality, then this turns the functional “shall” in those states’ rural areas into “no.”

I tell ya, SCOTUS must have really wanted America to have a fun weekend.

Though I would imagine watching the American libs spaz sperg and melt down is going to be fun. Even the German and European libs are a bit shocked, even though it’s a whole continent away. Maybe they know that what starts there migrates here.

If it weren’t for niggers, this one wouldn’t need an abortion.

In case you’re curious, the German words for abortion:

Abtreibung. Lit: “Away-push-ing.”

Schwangerschaftsabbruch. Lit: “Pregnant+state of being+away+break”

Now, politically, the only real change so far since the Scholzomat government started, which promised a lot of liberalization, is that the prohibition on advertising the “procedure” was lifted, and that happened in fact on Thursday. (One day before, go figure.)

For his part, Emmanuel Macron has voiced opposition to SCOTUS’s decision here. The irony is that even if he gets the abortion liberalization he wants for France, it would still mean that French abortion laws are more strict than the Mississippi laws that were the basis of the SCOTUS case decided yesterday.

I have a prediction, based on the reality that this is the current year.

I see they’re on the streets now doing peaceful protests, mostly peaceful protests, mostly peaceful protests intensifying, and peaceful protests with benefits.

Which means they’re united, for now.

But it’s only going to be a few days until they start fighting with each other over whose intersectional voices and identities should be seen and heard the most. And that black women will be bitching that too many white women are out front in this matter and erasing black women and silencing their voices.

Chatter that they’re worried about terrorist boogie woogie against Catholic parishes and priests.

The irony is that, while the pro-life movement’s big energy at first was among official Catholicism, it didn’t take long for that to change. Some time in the first half of the 1980s was when the energy source changed from official Catholics to other than High Protestants.

So if they attack Catholic edifices and personnel, they’re attacking very old news. Now if they attack your typical First Baptist Church of the Outer White Bread and Mayo Suburbs, then that’s going to be more temporally accurate.

There doesn’t seem to be much notice that if the Never Trumpers had their way (in 2016) Roe-Wade would not have been overturned.

My former “neighbor” David French tweeted something about abortions increasing under Trump–a typically irrelevant to the situation and stupid comment.

Corpocracy scambles to pay sluts to have abortions

https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2022/jun/24/corporations-scrambling-to-determine-what-theyll-c/

The Walt Disney Co. said Friday it would cover employee travel expenses for abortions in light of the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down Roe v. Wade, the latest corporate giant to make the move as companies scramble to adjust to the new reality.

A torrent of similar announcements rolled in Friday from companies such as Netflix, Paramount, Sony and Comcast, underscoring corporate America’s unusual role in safeguarding reproductive rights following the high court’s ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

Dick’s Sporting Goods will reimburse as much as $4,000 in abortion travel expenses “to the nearest location where that care is legally available” for employees, their spouses and dependents in states where access is restricted, chief executive Lauren Hobart announced on LinkedIn Friday.

Effective in July, JPMorgan Chase is expanding travel benefits for any covered service that can only be obtained more than 50 miles from an employee’s home, the company told the Post.

Somebody ask Dimon what this’ll do for inflation

‘Bring rifles’: Extremist groups call for violence over abortion ruling

https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/06/24/extremists-violence-abortion-ruling/

Fringe groups on the far right and far left issued calls to take up arms on Friday in a sign of escalating tension over the U.S. Supreme Court’s abortion ruling.

“DEFEND YOUR CHURCHES TONIGHT,” cried far-right catboy Nicholas Fuentes on his personal channel on the messaging app Telegram, where he has more than 44,000 followers.

The Blogmeister observed that his judicial appointments were enough to justify supporting Trump in 2016.

The Blogmeister also put Jeff Sessions as Attorney General in this context but Trump came to dislike Sessions, or they couldn’t work together. Or Trump being Trump.

Top white nationalist: ‘Jews stood in the way’ of ending Roe v. Wade

https://www.jpost.com/diaspora/antisemitism/article-710771

In the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, Nick Fuentes, a white nationalist leader and influential figure among the rightmost flank of the Republican Party, told his followers that “Jews stood in the way” of Catholic Supreme Court Justices who “were put on the court to overturn” the 1973 decision that guaranteed the right to an abortion in the United States.

Fuentes, who founded the America First Political Action Committee and the ”groyper army,” a radical fringe group, made the comments on his website’s livestream on Friday, according to Right Wing Watch. He added “we need a government of Christians” and “Jewish people can be here, but they can’t make our laws.”

It's your dime, spill it. And also...NO TROLLS ALLOWED~!
