I’m going to be as close as I can practically be to off grid totally, starting shortly after I upload this post, through this weekend, next week and next weekend. Unless some yuge news breaks.
The big things are the birthday present I’ll be getting Wednesday and Thursday of next week, which will necessitate a short roadtrip, and then my actual birthday a week from today, which will perfectly blend into next weekend. And I’ve got sundries between now and when I have to hit the road.
By the time I return, I’ll be 46 years old. Closer to 50 than 40. I would say dwell on that, but I don’t wanna.
I will say this before I scoot on outta here: Those who raise their children will get to spoil their grandchildren, and those who spoil their children will have to raise their grandchildren.

Far-right Twitter troll Douglass Mackey was forced to confront his racist and sexist tweets in a tense day of testimony in Brooklyn Federal Court, as a prosecutor cited them to try to rip apart his defense in his election interference conspiracy trial.
Mackey, 33, is accused of posting fake Hillary Clinton campaign ads on Twitter a week before the 2016 presidential election, falsely telling people they could vote by text.

The so-called ‘QAnon Shaman’ who pleaded guilty to storming the US Capitol on January 6 has been released from prison to a halfway house 14 months early, in an apparent reduction for good behavior.
Jacob Chansley, 35, pleaded guilty in September 2021 to civil disorder and violent entry to the Capitol, among other charges, and was later sentenced to 41 months in federal prison.
As of Thursday, Bureau of Prison Records showed, and his former attorney confirmed in a statement to DailyMail.com, that Chansley was in a Phoenix halfway house after serving just under 27 months in prison total.
Though Chansley’s release comes weeks after his former attorney demanded he be freed in light of new video from the Capitol riot, his move to the halfway house appears to routine under federal prison policy.

The verdict followed a one-week trial before United States District Judge Ann M. Donnelly. When sentenced, Mackey faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.
Breon Peace, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, and Michael J. Driscoll, Assistant Director-in-Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York Field Office (FBI), announced the verdict.
“Mackey has been found guilty by a jury of his peers of attempting to deprive individuals from exercising their sacred right to vote for the candidate of their choice in the 2016 Presidential Election,” stated United States Attorney Peace. “Today’s verdict proves that the defendant’s fraudulent actions crossed a line into criminality and flatly rejects his cynical attempt to use the constitutional right of free speech as a shield for his scheme to subvert the ballot box and suppress the vote.”
