On Trump being allergic to data.

Like I’ve been saying, overrated.  Especially in big turnout mass appeal elections.  In lower turnout downballot races, data done right can be effective, and the Republicans’ 2014 data game was both clever and effective.  But their lack of a data game was not the reason for Romney not ousting Obama two years prior.

Trump’s campaign has and will continue to send a lot of people, ideologies, institutions and conventional wisdom to the ash heap of irrelevance, and now he’s about to show up the naked emperor that is the political data game.

I think data actually helped Big Ricky. He wasn’t targeting guys like us. He was targeting Fundies. Data allowed him to craft messages to which they might respond positively. It helped, but not enough. There aren’t that many Fundies anymore.

Data likely helps only at the margins. It might matter in a close race. It seems like it would be more useful in primaries where there isn’t much to distinguish one candidate from another. See ¡Yeb!, Lubio, and Cucksick. I suppose it could be useful in the general if one is targeting the 10-20 percent of low information voters in the middle.

One thing’s for certain – You’re never going to convince a Bernout to vote for Ted Cruz, no matter how much data you have.

As for Trump, he doesn’t really need data. He instinctively knows what to say to attract voters. Data only helps clueless cucks.

I keep reading stories and polls about how anywhere between a fifth and a third of Bern’s people will vote for Trump. I think the low end of that range is possible, but it would be Trump’s ceiling in that stat, and I certainly wouldn’t bank on it if I was Corey. Really, for Trump, Bern’s people and blacks are much the same in that Trump will neutralize them much better than he gets their votes; but a neutralized Bern or black voter is still bad news for Nurse Ratchet.

Half right and half problematic. I think the Trump-TPM dynamic is that Trump (and Cruz) exposed which parts of the TPM were ideologically thrown in right-libertarians and which parts were people who wanted pop-nat and thought the TPM was a decent vehicle.

“White” millennials, at that. Which means the 36% swing among Ms is even more drastic, because as they never fail to remind us, Ms are a diverse generation, and it’s only the whites doing the swinging.

This said something at the end that I think is really profound. Don’t be surprised if the post Labor Day Trump rolls out some plan for college loan debt forgiveness. Who better to do that than someone who has filed some form of business bankruptcy four times. But I do know that any insinuation that the Democrats would do it is just boob bait; remember, Obama has had his precious pen and phone for more than seven years. Any real action on this, whether it’s a statutory write off, or reinserting SL debt into bankruptcy law, would hurt Democrat-heavy industries.
