Have any of you seen or heard the public service announcements about not forgetting your children in their car seats and leaving them in closed locked hot cars where they could die of heat stroke?
One of the suggestions for parents so they don’t forget their children is to put something valuable in the back seat.
I swear, are people really that vain, selfish, and materialistic?
You’d think that their children would be that valuable thing.
No, I guess. People attach much more value to some several hundred dollar little rectangle of electronics that will be obsolete in a few years than they do the small living human beings that are by biology and DNA half them and are expected to live many decades and themselves reproduce.

It wasn’t a carjacking, he just left it unlocked and some opportunistic kids age 7-11 got in and went joyriding. He later said after it was all over, complaining that he was on hold for five minutes on 911, and that since the kids were age 7-11 and it was the noon hour on a school day, they should have been in school, and that there should have been truancy enforcement.
Doesn’t he know that he voted to defund the APD? Guess what you’re gonna get, longer hold times in 911 and the officers that remain not caring about things like truancy laws, especially in a time like this when enforcing all but the most serious laws and especially against kids will get you in hot water.

Cary, N.C. — A Cary man is charged with North Carolina’s version of a hate crime after putting racial stickers on cars and in a bathroom at Mexican restaurants around town last week, police said.
The “I (heart) being white” stickers were found on cars parked outside the On the Border restaurant at 1102 Walnut St. and inside a bathroom at Totopos Street Food and Tequila, at 1388 Kildaire Farm Road, on Saturday.
John Michael Kantz, 60, was charged with two counts of ethnic intimidation. His bond was set at $500, but police said he remains in custody.

Canadian officials have charged two American travelers and fined them 20,000 Canadian dollars each – around $16,000 USD – for providing fake COVID-19 vaccination documents.
The unnamed travelers arrived from the US in Canada the week of July 18. Officials from the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) fined each traveler four times for a total of 19,720 CAD per traveler.
